[FIN] Red Snowcones (Pastel Goth x Elisabeta)

Pastel Goth didn't tend to stray much from Winterbloom, since his main familial hub was there, as was Honeydribble and their blood bank. However, Pastel had a mission in mind - they were known for mixing their dietary needs as a vampire into regular drinks, but after recently hearing about a rare flower that could be found in the Frost Breath Canyon, Pastel had been wondering what would come of mixing it into some of his drinks. Would he make a potion on accident, or would he make a truly fantastical drink? Deciding it was worth the journey, he packed up for a solo journey and headed out into the canyons, letting his parents and sibling know where he was headed. He didn't believe he'd get lost, but it was always better to be safe than sorry, especially when traveling alone.

The sun was white through the cloudy day - Pastel had set out early that morning and was taking care against the crisp temperature of the air. A breeze threatened his usual beehive mane style, but he'd brought his mane products with him. While he was well aware that the chances of finding anyone out here in the canyon were slim at best, he was still certain that he wanted to look his best... for his own sake. Besides! He thought with a smile. Perhaps I do come across someone new and they look at me and think - well, there's a handsome pony! I think I ought to befriend him, simply based on his care of personal hyenine! Pastel Goth grinned at the thought and trotted along happily.

He was just at the lip of the canyon now and peered over the edge, his smile slipping away.
"Goodness... it is a very narrow path." He thought with a small frown. "And it's a very steep path, too... No, no! Pastel Goth, you can do this! Your parents hunt ghosts and aliens. You can brave this path, easily!" Pastel Goth peered down at the path and gulped. Yeah... easily. @Shadrya

Elisabeta awoke to find the Queen of the Vampires had vanished, As a newly turned vampire Elisabeta stayed in a cave that she found the Queen in and had made it into her home only venturing out to gather wood, herbs, plants, water and to hunt for food. Elisabeta still having heaps of vials left that the Queen gave her but she knew she would have to aquire more but didnt know where to start. The Queen had told her that being a vampire had come with a few perks and unfortunately come with some cons aswell. Yes she could still eat normal foods but she had to drink atleast five cups worth of blood every 48 hours ( luckily it could be any blood ) so when she hunted for food she had to carefully drain and store the blood from the animals she killed, another is her sight was much better at night, she was fast as a pixie but even faster as a vampire, daylight well daylight was an issue daylight was terrible for her vision, she could become sunburnt far easier than before and one last thing she remembered was she could turn into a bat but it was for only 30mins.

Pastel wore white to bounce light and heat off of his figure, but he was starting to regret it, having to pause his downward tread every so often to tug his cloak better.
I should've just brought a parasol. He thought with a frustrated sigh. But then he'd have to worry about carrying it, rather than where to put his hooves. Maybe he should've just waited until evening to set out.

With a sigh, he continued down into the canyon, until eventually he could spy a cave along one of the walls of the frigid canyon. With a sigh of relief, he headed towards the cave. The perfect spot to wait out the day! And who knew, maybe some of those elusive Winter Flowers growing inside! How lucky would that be!

Of course, it wasn't until he was walking through the entrance that he caught the scent of blood in the cave and realized that it might be more than flowers that lived within.
"H-Hello? Is someone else in here?" @Shadrya

Pastel Goth gulped when he heard a voice answer back to him. He couldn't quite see the pony who replied, but from the sound of the voice, it belonged to a mare. His antenna flicked forward, the stars on the ends waving with interest.

"I'm seeking some shelter from the light." He answered honestly. "I was born with a sensitivity to the sunlight. I shouldn't like to bother you, of course. I'll be on my way once the light dims - I mean no harm, at any rate. Here, I'll stay next to the entrance, if you'd like your space." He ventured, smiling at the darkness. While his vision was certainly better in darkness, his eyes were still adjusting to the cave's lighting now. Until they did or until the mare came forward, he wouldn't be able to see her.

"Thank you, at any rate, for letting me stay." He pressed on. Better to ask forgiveness than permission and the voice didn't sound outwardly hostile. His nose twitched. There was certainly the evident smell of blood here and it wasn't just radiating from the pouches in his own saddlebags - it was here in the cave. He desperately hoped he wasn't in any sort of danger. He just needed to stay civil, he thought. Civil and polite... and alert. If whatever lurked in the back of the cave turned out to be dangerous, he wanted to stick right by the entrance of the cave in case he needed to high tail it out of there in a hurry - sunlight be danged. @Shadrya

Elisabeta noticed that the voice belonged to a colt, Elisabeta stepped forward cautiously toward the lighter part of the cave so she could see the colt, She replied"Come in and come sit near the fire to get warm".All of a suddden Elisabeta could smell blood on the colt and backed away and exclaimed "WHY DO YOU SMELL LIKE BLOOD??!!!"Elisabeta's fangs started to come out startling her"OMG WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME" Elisabeta backed away from the stranger not wanting to hurt him.

Pastel Goth was about to politely thank the mare, but refuse her offer to move to the fire. With his winter alignment, the cold never bothered him anyway, but her sudden exclamations startled him. Wings fluttered in alarm and he moved quickly to the entrance, only to turn as he heard the mare's retreat. The fear in her voice was clear, but he'd dealt with fear before. Plus... if she could scent the blood in his blood packs, which were tucked stealthily away in his saddle bags... Well, there was only one creature he knew with a nose that good.

"I smell like blood because I'm carrying some with me - I'm a vampire, so I need it to be able to get through the day." There was no point in beating around the bush, but Pastel made an effort to keep his voice steady. He turned away from the entrance and moved slowly towards the back of the cave. "Take slow, deep breaths, miss. It's alright if you can smell it or if your fangs appear, mine used to do that too, especially if I got particularly hungry. If you're hungry now, I'm happy to share. Are you... are you alone?" Pastel had heard of covens, but he hadn't heard anyone else in the cave.

"Why don't you sit down by the fire? I'll sit with you. Were you bitten recently?" Or maybe she had been born into it, like he had, but with no one to turn to. The prospect of the Winter Flower forgotten in his mind, he was happy to help the mare if he could. As he got to the fire, he slid his saddlebags off his back and rummaged around inside for a packet. Rummaging around further, he stabbed a straw through it and glanced around the cave. He saw the faint silhouette of what he assumed to be the mare in question and extended the blood packet with the straw sticking out of it towards her. "Don't worry, it's not, um, equine." He assured her. "Or if this is too straightforward, I think I have a canteen further down in my pack...?" @Shadrya

Elisabeta slowly went towards the colt showing signs of stress but also signs of happiness that she found another vampire. she replied to the colt"the Queen she vanished after telling me what i was and didnt know how to handle that news, Elisabeta explained that she happened to stumble across the Queen in this very cave and that after she had briefly spoken to her, she had kissed her forehead and she had passed out and when she awoke no one was in the cave, Elisabeta also explained that the Queen had given her this satchel with vials of blood in it."
Elisabeta said
"oh, you shouldn't have opened it, i have some" as she showed the colt her satchel, "thank you anyways,My name is Elisabeta, what is yours?"

Despite the fact that the mare had been practically screeching just moments before, Pastel Goth realized that she seemed to calm down remarkably fast. Left with a sense of emotional whiplash, Pastel looked from the mare to his extended blood packet.

"The queen...?" He echoed. Did she mean the Queen of Winter? As she continued on, he decided that she couldn't possibly mean the seasonal queen, so perhaps it was some other pony walking around with that title? So was it just some stranger who had walked up to this mare, given her some blood and walked off? Pastel set the blood packet down and ran a hoof over his face. Sighing, he tried to give himself some time to process everything and sort through the nonsense being thrown his way.

"I... Okay, let's start from the beginning. You're a vampire, you met a pony who gave you some blood and then they just... left you here? Do you have any place to live, other than a cave?" He asked her. @Shadrya

Feeling a little calmer as this was the second pony she had met since her attack she replied "Yes, as i had told you the Queen of Vampires gave me my blood supply and helped me with my thirsst, gave me a little bit of information then gave me a kiss on the forehead, i blacked out and when i had woken she had left, This is my home",Elisabeta replied. "i am sorry i startled you, you are the second pony i've met since this has happened to me, Elisabeta asked where were you going in this terrible weather"?

Pastel wasn't sure if the mare was confused or disoriented or if this was just her personality.
"I didn't know vampires had a queen." He said tentatively. He'd certainly never heard of one, nor seen her. It was an effort to keep the skepticism from his voice. "Though... I can't imagine that a cave is a very comfortable home. Ponies aren't meant to live alone, vampires or otherwise. I live among in Winterbloom, which is a sizeable town, though it's far from here. If... If you're willing, I could take you there. We might be able to find you some help, Miss... I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name."

His initial quest to find the Winter Flower had been forgotten about once he met up with this vampire mare. When she asked, he picked up the blood packet and swirled it around as though he were holding a martini glass.

"I was searching for an ingredient that I'm told can be found in the area, but that's not of any importance to me now. Not now that we've met." He told her with a smile, determined to help this poor mare if he could. Since she'd refused the blood packet, he decided to drink it down himself. When it was empty, he rolled up the remaining plastic and put it back into his saddlebag. "The sun is pretty harsh right now, but if we leave by sundown, we should be able to reach Winterbloom by midnight." He reflected, glancing at the cave entrance. "I would like the company, and I really do think that you'd benefit from joining me. A cave is no place for a pony." @Shadrya

Elisabeta replied"the cave isnt too bad i mean my other home at Lake Flare before i was attacked and became a vampire was much more comfortable than here but i have made do with what i have, i am resourceful as i know which plants i can take and which i should avoid, back home i was a healer and had my own practice there"
Elisabeta looked at Pastel as she thought she had given this pony her name and replied, it is Elisabeta"

Elisabeta curiously asked"is it the Winter's Bloom Flower?",as she did she went to her medicine satchel and took out what seemed to be a frozen orb, but as Pastel looked closely he saw it was a flower.
Elisabeta smiled and saie
"yes, i will accompany to Winterbloom".

Pastel Goth frowned a little when the mare spoke of her cave as though it was a proper home. He couldn't see it as such, such a cave befitted some feral beast, not a sophisticated pony.
"I'm sure the Winterbloom community would be happy to have another healer in their midst. Why, I suspect you could likely set up your own practice there, too. Like you had in your first home. Or I could likely find you a job at my sibling's workplace - they founded the local blood bank, Dreamer bless them. At any rate, there's bound to be a proper place for you, it's only a matter of finding it." He preached to the mare.

"Elisabeta is a beautiful name. It's a pleasure to meet you." He told her. It was then that she pulled a frozen orb from her satchel. He peered curiously at it. "I'm... not sure, actually. I've never actually seen a Winter Flower, I've just heard that it's a flower that's entirely frozen. I'm sure I can always come back another day to search for it - though perhaps when we return to town, we can identify that flowering herb of yours. Where did you find it?" He inquired, with a tilt of his head.

When Elisabeta went on to say that she would follow him home, he smiled widely at her.
"Excellent! Then we shall set out the moment that the sun sets. It's a bit of a walk, so if you haven't eaten or, well, drank anything yet, today, I'd certainly recommend doing so now, while we have the spare time." He informed her. @Shadrya

Elisabeta blushed "that is sweet of you to say Pastel, i do hope they are warm and welcoming as you have been", oh she said "i would love to meet your sister, but i think for job wise i would love to try and open a pratice again, i have all my herbs/plants and seeds to get from my old home but thats easily moved with me flying". Elisabeta blushed again and thought to herself "omg Elisbeta you need to stop blushing, what is Pastel going to think!!!" "Its nice to meet you too", Elisabeta laughed as she gave the orb to Pastel and said "this is the Winter Bloom Flower i am gifting it you as i have a couple growing back at my other greenery", i do have notes in my satchel somewhere that can you copy from and recipes in which i use the flower for or......if you needed said tincture you could always come to me free of charge", Elisbeta pondered, hmmmm " I found the Flower here actually i think it likes the dampness of the cave".
When Pastel had told her that it would be a long journey Elisabeta said "i have some vegetable stew brewing at the moment would you care for some?".

Pastel smiled at Elisabeta and inclined his head politely to her. Between his parents, his sibling and himself, he was certain that Elisabeta would be welcomed into the community. Ponies in Winterbloom were usually very kindly spirits and with the efforts he was making to ensure that it was a vampire friendly community... His smile widened. Elisabeta should fit right in.

"Oh, Honeydribble isn't my sister." He corrected. "They're my sibling." He smiled as he clarified, before turning his attention to the flower. He cupped the orb delicately in his hooves, examining it and nodding. He would cross reference it once he returned home. The Winter Flower... well, he was happy to have acquired one, if this was the same flower he had come here to search for. He really didn't know what to expect coming down here in a place that was supposedly so perilous. This all seemed almost... too easy. Well, not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, he stowed away the flower in his satchel and continued to smile widely at Elisabeta. While he noted the pink blush along her cheeks, he chose not to remark on it.

"Well, whether it be as a florist or healer, I'm sure that Winterbloom will be happy to have you. I, too, will be happy to have another friend and a fellow vampire in the community. We vamps ought to stick together, after all. Now, in regards to that tincture, I should be happy to know what it's uses are... what uses have you found for the Winter Flower?" He inquired and then nodded towards the pot. "I would be very thankful for the stew, if you can spare some. Thank you, Elisabeta." @Shadrya

"Oh" Elisabeta replied, "im sorry if i offended you or honeydribble", she hung her head down embarassed, when Pastel said that no matter what winterbloom would be happy to have her the pink out of her cheeks went and a hug grin replaced it she was extremely happy that she had met Pastel as not too may neighbours at her old home were so welcoming of her vamperism, "ooh how many vampires are there in Winterbloom?, to tell you the truth it was a bit lonely in that cave" the thought of there being more of us is a nice she thought "hmmm" Elisabeta tilted her head to the side "ah the tincture well its like a binding agent, i suppose it makes the orignal tincture much stronger so you can add to to most tinctures", Elisabeta smiled and said "i will always be happy to share what food i have with you Pastel Goth my new beloved friend".

Pastel's smile remained as he reached out and lay a hoof on Elisabeta's shoulder.
"Hey, it's okay. I'm not offended. Mistakes happen." He said, doing his best to be reassuring. Pulling his hoof back, he considered her question. "Goodness, I honestly couldn't say. I'm doing my best to get connected with the vampire community there, but some of us tend to prefer hiding than being up front about it. I have met vampires that belong to other seasons, though! After Honeydribble established the local blood bank, we've got vamps coming in from all over to cash in on the goods, heh. It's more organized than I make it sound, I promise." He added with a soft chuckle.

He nodded when she went on to explain the tincture, though he didn't actually know much about that sort of thing himself. It sounded like she was using the flower's properties as a medicine of some sort - suited to her, he remembered. She had mentioned she was a healer, after all. He wondered what he may be able to do with the flower, as an ingredient in a brew or mixed in with animal blood. He would ponder that more later, when he was safely home.

"You have my thanks for the stew and for your friendship, Elisabeta." He said as he settled down by the fire. "Let us eat and then if you need help packing up the cave, I'd be happy to assist you how I can. Do you have many belongings to take with you on the journey?" He asked, glancing around the cave. @Shadrya

Elisabeta was so happy that she didnt offend Pastel and took his hoof into hers and blushed and said "thank you, i shall be more aware next time", oooh Elisabetta replied "maybe when we get back to Winterbloom maybe i can reach out to the vampires that are maybe too afraid to come forth, tell them my story so they know that they are not alone, honeydribble is definately a godsend to have opened up that blood bank i do not want to think what could of happened if it wasnt around", Elisabeta saw that Pastel couldve been a bit confused on how she explained how she used the rare flower in her tinctures and replied "once i get settled in maybe i can show you how exactly i use the Winterbloom Flower in my tinctures, how to make them or even help me if you like".
Elisabeta smiled at Pastel and said "you're most welcome and your help would be nice, i do not have much as in the way of belongings just some clothes, animal pelts and my tincture satchel", Elisabeta looked outside the cave and said "maybe we should get s ome rest? there is an animal pelt ( not pony i swear ) for you to rest on and a spare blanket, it sounds we need our rest for the journey ahead of us"

Pastel inclined his head towards Elisabeta.
"I think that's a fine idea. I'm always happy to welcome any help I can to strengthening the vampire community in Winterbloom." He told her with a smile. "So any help you may offer, to our vampire kin or even the general public there is always appreciated. It is my dream that one day we may be able to live altogether, without any unease between vampires and daywalkers - that is to say, non-vampires, at any rate." He explained, in case the mare sitting across from him was unfamiliar with the term.

He smiled at her comment in regards to his sibling. He didn't know of all the words that she used, but the impression left with her words was friendly and warm. He was happy to have found such a fine mare - and a fellow vampire at that - in some place unexpected. He listened to her offer to show him how she used the flower in her tinctures and nodded again.
"I would be pleased to learn, since you are offering so generously to show me. Thank you, Elisabeta." He told her graciously.

He flinched a little at the mention of animal pelts, suppressing a shudder.
"I can help you carry the clothes and or the satchel, but... I would recommend you leave the animal pelts here, perhaps some other manner of beast can find a use for them. I'm, um, I'm a bit queasy at the thought of traveling with the skins of other animals. Equine or not." He explained, a bit sheepishly. "Ah, yes, rest. Well, you're welcome to lay on the -erk!- the pelt. I've got a blanket in my bags, so I'll be content to lay on it for the time being. After the stew, anyway. I've a bowl... shall I just dip it into the pot?" He asked as he began to rummage around his saddlebags. @Shadrya

Elisabeta exciting snorted and blushed putting her hooves over her face to conceal it, the thought of all this blood talk was making her thirsty she slowly walked over to the satchel the Queen had given her and took out one of the vials and drank it. after Pastel said that he please to learn she snorted again rolling her eyes at herself as yet again shse was blushing, Elisabeta asked herself "why is this Colt affected her so much, he is just being kind, maybe she wasnt really used to it after all she was shunned from her village because she got turned into a Vampire."
"Helping me with my belongings would be greateful,
Elisabeta replied, oh, im sorry that the thought of animal fur makes you uncomfortable, may i ask why? and of course i shall leave them here i dont want anyother ponies to get suck in this cave due to the weather without anything to lay on, ill leave all of the wood ive collected aswell"
Eliabeta said "yes, by all means dig in, there's enough for us here to last a few days"
