[ prp ] (Trying to) Go the Distance - Moon Prism & Navy Passion

It hadn't been the most quiet of years for Moon Prism. She and her sisters had become adults during a tumultuous time in their lives, to the point that it had been incredibly hard for Moon Prism to even think of breaking away to do her own thing. It had been easier letting her older sisters take control and tell her what to do. But as she grew, Moon found herself wanting to not be so coddled - still spoiled to some degree, sure, but also able to take things into her own hooves. Save ponies, become an icon, help the helpless, that sort of thing. Be a hero.

But she was so scared of messing up and so unused to doing things on her own.

Moon Prism has started with the small things. After a bad storm had torn up a pony's fence, she opted to help them find their mau who must have escaped with the enclosure downed. And she had been doing a great job tracking it, she thought! But finding the pet wasn't enough: Mr. Whiskers didn't want to be touched by a stranger, even one with his favorite blanket as a bait, and so most of the afternoon Moon Prism spent chasing the darn thing throughout the neighborhood. By the time they reached their standoff, she was tired, a bit scratched up, and ready to cry.

"Would you PLEASE come down, Mr. Whiskers!" the mare yelled up at him. Mr. Whiskers was now pleasantly lying on a branch beyond her reach, enjoying the tree shade, watching her flail with half-lidded eyes. "Please! I promise you your owner really misses you!!"

Silence.

Moon fell on her hind and half-sighed, half-sobbed in frustration. Could she not even do this right without her sisters' help?

Navy Passion strolled along the path enjoying the sounds of nature, his tail switched to and FRO idly, his bright red eyes scanning around to see if there is anything of interest during his walk. He hummed quietly to himself. As he walked along his eyes came across a young mare who looked like she could use a helping hoof. He trotted closer and frowned a little noticing how upset she was he had decided that he would come up with a way to help her. It disliked seeing ponies upset over a situation they had no control over. In most cases how things worked out in a bad situation wasn't really in their control.

He trotted over to her and caught the tail end of what she had said. "A lovely mare, like yourself should not look so sad" he told her trying to somewhat cheer her up. He looked up at tree and noticed that a small animal was in the tree. "Do you need some help?" he asked her politely.
