Entry: Oh sweet dragon. You want to know something scary well I’m sorry to have to disappoint you I only have a story that is a bit creepy and sad really. Saturnine Sage fumbled with her gem necklace. It’s about this necklace actually you see years ago. A very long time ago there were two ponies deeply in love but they were from conflicting families and could not be together. One was sent to the land of summer where delved into the deep gem filled mountains and studied magic and enchanting. The other stayed in the land of Spring and in time became engaged to another. Perhaps we ought to give them names in this tale though the truth is their names were lost to time. The enchanter Davr’ck was heartbroken when they found out. They at first could not stand to be separated from their beloved Jade. So they stole into the land of Spring against their family’s wishes to see Jade one last time. Unbeknownst to them Jade’s new betrothed was a powerful sorcerer from the land of winter Jerric. Jerric was a stubborn and prideful pony. When they learned of Jade’s dalliance with Davr’ck they laid a powerful curse upon them to keep them apart. For Davri’ck it was a misfortune of breaking pain and suffering. No matter what they would do they would suffer terrible injury. Being a strong enchanter Davr’ck managed to enchant a gem that would keep the curse at bay. Jade though was far less lucky. The curse cast on Jade broke their soul. Forever more they would never feel and could never hope. Jerric then stole away to the deepest lands of winter done with the farce of a marriage. Davr’ck knew the gem they made could perhaps save Jade if it was given soon enough though the cost would likely be Davr’ck’s own life as they would be left to the curse and could not make it back in time to the gem mountains to gather another gem. Still without regret the gem was given to Jade. Where it let them feel but the only thing they could feel was despair for their loved one was lost. They prayed to the maker to give back their lover but no answer was given. In time they had continued their family and died still missing their loved one. It is said that in my family the curse still remains which is why I wear this gem. It is said that should the souls be reborn you might see them in the gem looking at it just so. Though as there is only one gem still one will be destined to perish should the pair ever met. Holding up the gem necklace she turned it. Just look how it. Oh… oh dear. That reflection in it. Is that yours? Soft tears trickled down her face. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I know we’ve only just met tonight but it seems our meeting will be cut short as I don’t think you’ll last very long. But I promise I'll try to remember you sooner next time so I can get a protection charm to help you as well.... I'm sorry and goodbye.
