Normally, there would be some in-universe blurb or some funny little thing about the nature of the game we're playing here, but today, before you can enter for anything, I want you to take a moment to appreciate something for me.
You may have heard "the first Pride was a riot" before, or maybe you haven't. If it's the latter, or if you've heard it but don't understand the context, I want to introduce you to the Stonewall Riots. Some of you probably have no idea the storied and violent past that queer people of all flavors have, but in short, police raids, arrests, violence and abuse are very much a part of our history; these riots are the key turning point of the gay rights movement - both in the US and in many places around the world.
Since those first few incidents, our rights have grown, but history must be remembered. Without each other to lean on, without allies pushing the way open, and without dedication, blood, and tears, we would not be able to celebrate this month as we do. I'm sure some of you think Pride is only about rainbow capitalism or just having a good time to celebrate oneselves, but it is also a time of remembrance and honor for those that came before us. Without their resistance, without their efforts, we would not be free to be the people we are today. We would not be able to color our silly little rainbow adoptables openly; we would not be able to buy cute merchandise and go to parades and share joy in the way we do.
It is also a time to remember that things are still not perfect. There is still a road ahead to full acceptance and equality, and we should never forget that. And it is in honor of this admittedly heavy subject matter, and the fighting spirit necessary to keep on the path, I have made this pony for everyone to have.
You may post up to three flags. An artist will choose one of these to color you a twin.
We may add light/dark tones if your flag does not have enough colors, but they will match the flag's colors!
All flags are welcome.
This includes sexuality, gender, disability, allyship, and kink.
This will be open until the end of June, and everyone will get one Pride pony, even if it takes a little while to complete them all.
