Yang — 'Yang is associated with light, activity, and the masculine'
Yang is quite literally the epitome of his name. He is bright, tender, and not afraid of what others think of him. Around Yang, there is no such thing as toxic masculinity. He encourages all Porri to be who they want to be, no matter what others might think. Yang is often referred to as someone's older brother, or even father in some cases. Yang charges nothing for therapy sessions, wholeheartedly believing in giving help regardless of someone's financial status. Everyone should have access to medicine and food, regardless of wealth.
He is warm to all he meets, even if they are rude to him. Cordiality and unbias are his specialties. This is not to say he will not step in if another Pon needs help, especially if they are being abused or bullied. Yang will insert himself into the equation and "kill them with kindness". Taking the situation and turning it so the abuser or bully focuses on him, and the victim can disappear. If his sister is with him, Yang will tend to the victim while allowing Yin to deal with the aggressor. Violence is never the answer, but it is sometimes a necessary solution. Hence letting his colder, more bullheaded sister take care of the particularly bad.

Yang and Yin were born at the same time, in the same place, but never got to meet the Porri whose dreams spawned them. Instead, they were found as starseeds, and taken to the Dreamdust Nursery on Ponporri. Once there, they were taken care of diligently, and eventually felt safe enough to emerge from their starseeds. The two were attached at the hip, but were inverse images of each other both in looks and personality. Yang was tender and warm, Yin was snappish and cold.
Despite their differences in personalities, they were inseparable. Even as they grew, staying with the Nursery and becoming caretakers there as they aged, Yang and Yin stayed near and dear to each other. Yang became very protective of all the lost starseeds that ended up at the nursery, and became a big brother to a majority of them. He would read stories, make snacks, play house, and even tuck them into bed at night. Yang eventually began to study psychology and therapy, attending school courses in whatever way he could without abandoning the nursery.
Eventually, he graduated from school with a therapy and psychology degree, and returned to the nursery full time. He became a therapist and counselor there, often allowing those who grew up and were either adopted, or left of their own accord, to return to him for anything they might need. He watched his sister, Yin, as she achieved her own dream - becoming a lawyer. She drifted from the nursery to an extent, as lawyers couldn't really help kits or starseeds. However, Yang sees her quite often as she will come home for the holidays, and always makes time to visit even outside of that.

They met on a normal, sunny day in the park.
It began when Melaina was taking a simple stroll, admiring the scenery, when she heard an exclamation of surprise, and heard a loud thump.
Esteban had fallen out of a tree. Why was he in the tree? If asked, he would have simply said because he felt like climbing it. Did he have experience climbing trees? Not at all, but it looked like fun.
Now, when Melaina would approach to check if he's okay, she would find him with a broken paw, though no real reaction to such. Instead, he would look up at her with the biggest, sweetest of eyes, as if Melaina was some sort of angel sent down from above, regardless of her scolding him for being so reckless.
This would lead to them sharing names, Melaina helping Esteban get some help for his broken paw, and then Esteban following Melaina around like a lost puppy. They would simply exist in the same space for a while, Esteban always finding Melaina and giving her little tokens of affection from his travels, while being gently scolded for whatever dangerous stunt he pulled to get these tokens.
Melaina's worry over him drew Esteban closer, appreciative of her concern for his clumsy ways, and how she would just scold him about what he did without yelling or trying to change him like his parents had. He could still go on his adventures, and always had a safe spot to return to at the end of the day.
Their relationship blossomed into a romantic one, which, in turn, bloomed into a shower of starseeds. Esteban is excited and worried at the same time, making lists of all the cool things he wants to show his little stars, while Melaina is more grounded and making sure he simmers down. All in all, they are both incredibly delighted to have this little shower of starseeds, and cannot wait for them to grow into the beautiful stars they know they will be.
