Around the nest, the woods are thick with overgrown brush and brambles. Wildlife is plentiful here, with smaller prey being the most common. Chipmunks, squirrels and mice make their homes in the lush trees. Birds are not nearly as frequent, with the brush typically too thick to support flight. A straggling wolf or coyote might come through, but the area is generally a peaceful one. Frogs and toads come to the nearby pond, drawn by the gentle waters to make a home here. They make excellent hunting for kits and apprentices trying to get their paws beneath them.
