MountainClan has made their home in the high peaks of the northern mountains, building their nests in a gorge that once contained a powerful river.
The Leader's Den is high in the rock face, so that they may watch over their clan. They are also close to the Tall Stones; an outcrop of rock that jutted out of the wall of the ravine and the place where they would call the clan together for announcements and ceremonies. A few tail-lengths away from the leader's den lay the Cave of Visions, where leaders and medicine cats went to commune with SunClan.
Just below the Leader's Den lies the Nursery, which is well protected due to its distance from the ground. The floor in the cave is slanted, making getting out quite difficult, thus keeping the curious kittens well contained. There are three small caves that separate off the main nursery room so that Queens may keep their privacy if desired.
In dusty caves carved into the stone by the long-since-gone river, the Warriors make their nests in these rocky dens. Warrior nests usually are made up of piles of dried grasses and are lined with feathers and fur from their kills.
The Medicine Cat's den is near the bottom of the gorge so that the elder cats may reach it quickly and safely. It is a large cave that can hold up to six cats. The Medicine Cat's and their apprentices will live down here, keeping stores of herbs in small nooks and crannies in the soft stone walls.
The Elders make their beds next door in a deep long cave in nests of the softest materials the apprentices can find. They usually sleep close together to keep warm.
Outside the camp, a sparse wood lines the gorge. Tall pines dot the rocky territory of the mountain cats. Places of interest are the Great Birch Tree, the owl tree, and the river bed.
