Hope was currently sitting down and brushing her little trifox Hart. She had arrived at the island not all that long ago and was currently assigned to work at the enrichment center to help with Pokémon physicals and care. She had to tuck the lanyard into the scrub top she was wearing under her light hoodie. She had been given the fuzzy new Pokémon when she arrived on the island and was just glad to have such a cute friend to work with. Hart was almost a constant companion for her often liking to sit in her hoodie and disliked being apart from her for short times. She was surprised it was so clingy but apparently that was a trait of the breed. And when Hart wasn’t curled on Hope she was buried fluff deep on Fluff the mareep. While Fluff was a bit of trouble with their rather naughty tendencies, they at least were kind enough to help care for the baby trifox. Finishing up brushing Hart she set her on Fluff who was bleating to also be brushed. “Sorry Fluff. I have a few charts to catch up on first then I’ll give you a decent brushing. I promise.” She smiled at the mareep who moved under the desk space and in a short while her computer flicked off. Sighing she knew Fluff hit the breaker switch on the surge protector. She was sure it wasn’t smart enough to know how much trouble it caused but smart enough to hear the computer pc stop humming every time it went under the desk and pressed around. She shooed it out from under the desk and reached down to flick the surge protector back on. Keeping the chair desk in Fluffs’ way she had to open the bottom drawer and shake some Pokémon treats into a bowl to distract it from getting under the desk again. She noticed Hart peek up out of the fluff and considered the bowel but then lay back down into the fluffy back of Fluff. Sliding out and spinning into the seat quickly into it she went to reopen the Pokémon health reports she had to add notes in. A few trainers had come in with scratches from expeditions she had treated today and of course a few overworked Pokémon who were from the construction crew who were helping to clear and build up areas. She documented the changes and supplies used. Before the small whining got her attention. Without looking she reached over and gave Hart a light head scratch while continuing to type albeit much slower with one hand. While it took a while she was glad when she was all done. She turned the computer off and stood up stretching. Scooping up Hart she slid the trifox into its latest favorite place in her hoodie top. She gave a low whistle to Fluff and moved around her tiny little office space to clean up for the night. Once she was done, she made a small sticky note report and waited for the night shift nurse to come in. Once she handed off the report thankfully it was a quiet night though she wouldn’t say it out loud as that would jinx the night she stretched again humming happily once she was out of the enrichment center. Fluff was by her side though she had to stop it from trying to eat a plant in the lobby … twice. She scratched its head and slightly tightened up her hoodie strings so that Hart would be more secure for what happened next. She started her evening jog around after work. It helped to give her time to clear her head as well as tire herself out so she would be able to sleep when she got home. Construction was wrapping up and she waved at several people and Pokémon wrapping things up for the night. She decided to take a slightly longer tour around dorm area. Fluff was looking tired so she put them into their pokeball before continuing. She wished that the higher ups would put in a large pool area for water Pokémon training and breaks. Not only that but in the warmer weather it would be great for people as well to cool down rather then having to head to the plaza down by the beach. The view form the beach was fantastic but trekking to the beach at night after work to cool down was a pain even if the pizza there was pretty good. Maybe she could put in a request for consideration later though she doubted anything would happen after all they likely had this place planned out to trash can locations to minimize impact to the island. Still a nice pool for water therapy and cool off would be a good idea. She kept gong until it was getting quite dark and Hart made a noise that warned her she needed to behave and not just run until she was tired as the small pokemon was starting to get hungry. Turning she headed back to the dorms to get a some food ready for Hart and Fluff. After all baby pokemon needed regular feeding schedules to maintain their health and weight. She was a bit sad about not being able to go for longer but responsibility called and honestly watching fluff stuff itself like a balloon while eating was something she would never get tired of. It was a nice night that was for certain. The squirming in her hood made her pick up her pace just a bit while she made soothing noises. Life was always interesting on this new island and she looked forward to many more nice nights like this one.
