[SRP] Fudge Surprise (Fudge Scoop)

Fudge was born into a family that was slowly growing in popularity. Her grandmother, the co-founder of the Bakers Dozen herd. Her grandfather and mother, popular newsponies in the newspaper fields, with Neo expanding into food magazines while her grandfather, Sundae, wrote articles pertaining to the hype around Everville. Her father, who lived outside of Everville, all the way in Winterbloom, a pony known for his fabulous parties. Her aunt and uncle, helping the family expand into desserts and drinks. Even her siblings were doing their part, with Sprinkleberry looking to become a pastry chef and Cherry moving out to become an excellent journalist. Both noble and tasty professions. Why, rumor had it that Cherry had also found herself not one, but two special someponies! Fudge found it difficult not to be jealous.

While her siblings moved towards their professions, Fudge found herself lingering in Everville longer. She was confident in her craft: making ice cream and creating monsterously delicious sundaes. She knew what she wanted to do in the long run: she wanted to set up her own shop in Melting Point, a summer border town. Surely many ponies would be looking to buy ice cream in a place rumored to be so hot, right?

Yet... Fudge had always been near her family. Growing up in such a small down as Everville, with the sounds of Grandma Rosa in the kitchen with her Auntie Tipsy. Hearing Neo and Grandpa Sundae discussing the newest restaurant that had set up in Everville... And always the smell of baking and sounds of laughter. Fudge wasn't sure if she was ready to leave all of it to start her new adventure.
It was her mother that started her on her path. She must have seen that her daughters were getting ready to start their lives, because their mother had sat them down, cried a bit and then made the sisters promise to stay in touch. Of course they had, the love between the Scoop sisters was stronger than any binding agent, whether it be marzipan or fondant or icing... But it was after they promised that their mother revealed a gift to them.

Neo's life savings, meant to be the start of her own journey in life, if she ever wanted to run her own business... she was dividing into three and giving to her daughters. A high sum of bits to each of her three fillies: a thank you for the wonderful journey they gave her, for motherhood was the best thing she could have asked for, Neo had said. It was enough to pay for travel fees for Cherry, so that the budding journalist could go where her heart took her. It was enough to pay for pastry classes for Sprinkleberry or pay for an apartment's rent for half a year, if her sister didn't choose to take the required classes. And for Fudge, paired with her own savings, it would be enough for a down payment on a storefront in Melting Point. She couldn't imagine how much her mother must have worked in order to see this money made... It was too much, she couldn't accept it... It was Fudge that started crying first, burying her face in her hooves.

Her mother had leaned over to hug her. All she asked in return was that Fudge kept in touch with her sisters-with her family. Her mother moved out of the booth, squeezing through to kiss each of her daughter's on the forehead (minding their horns) and then she said that she would let them talk alone, together. With her parting wish and her gift to them all, she had left them on their journeys forward. Fudge hadn't been able to stop bawling the rest of the day...until she shoved a chocolate strawberry in her mouth, anyway.

It hadn't taken her that long after the meeting to get her affairs in order. She stayed in Everville, but made frequent visits to Melting Point as she put the bits to good use, choosing the perfect storefront and paying it off in increments. When she finally had it paid off, she met with her mother, with her grandparents, with her sisters. She gave them all her new address, gave many hugs and shed many parting tears. She would write, she promised them. She would give them free sundaes if they ever stopped by her shop. And then.. she hopped on a train and headed out, leaving her home life behind. She would visit her father just once before making her settlement in the summer sector. And then... then she would have her whole life ahead of her. Her journey started now.
