Perfect balance.
It was always important for Libra to have balance in their life - they couldn't stand something being out of place. Living one's life was naturally chaotic - and chaos was frightening and unpredictable. Libra didn't possess any abilities to see into the future, but they learned at a young age that if you led your life in an orderly way, the future was easier to predict. They began a strict regiment to follow. Even over time as they grew older, made small adjustments to their life, they still found a way to make sure that their schedule was balanced. They went to school to become a mediator, hoping to bring balance and peace to others. They always offered their clients and friends a fair, nonbias ear to listen to and give advice upon their issues. They became well known for keeping a level head and Libra prided themselves on this fact.
For a time, they tried getting into the dating aspect of life, but they soon found that relationships just weren't for them. No matter what they did, they couldn't find any sort of balance in them. Ponies in a workplace were mature, always putting their best hoof forward. Ponies in a relationship were unpredictable, emotional and irrational. It unnerved Libra. Apparently Libra unnerved their partners too, as many of them accused Libra of being emotionless and unfeeling. Apathetic and strict, ponies who felt their emotions more freely, without any restraint, found Libra stifling. After every break up, Libra would find themselves feeling unbalanced. It was a gut-wrenching feeling and something that could only be cured by an absurd amount of ice cream and tears. After a month of this behavior, however, something within Libra would right itself and they'd get their life back on track.
Libra stopped trying to find love. They focused on the happiness they would receive from work and the order that they had at home. There was no need to risk chaos that came from relationships. All they needed to do was focus on what they already had and not go seeking trouble. Their life was perfectly balanced between work and relaxation as it was. They tried not to think about how their life, perfectly balanced, was also perfectly lonely, too.
They're not entirely sure how they bumped into Enilari Solarin. They remember seeing him at a café - they'd ordered the same drink that Libra had: half a cup of coffee and half and half mixed in. Libra had remarked about it being a good choice, wished them a good day and had gone to work. Since then, Libra saw that pony at the same cafe every morning before work. And at the library. And across the street of Libra's workplace. Libra didn't think anything of it - they didn't seem malicious and in fact, it gave Libra the chance to talk to them more. They found that they enjoyed Enilari's company, to the point where after a few weeks, Libra invited them to come by their house for coffee and a pleasant conversation. The conversation had drawn out long - Enilari had been asking Libra about Libra's work, which they were happy to answer. As the night grew longer, Libra eventually knew it was time for them to retire - their alarm going off to alert them of just this, but they weren't about to toss their guest out into the street. So, Libra made Enilari a place on the couch. They were a little nervous - it had been years since they'd had someone over, but come the morning, Libra began to make breakfast for two and it just came so naturally.
Enilari started staying over more frequently after that, until finally Libra just put up a bed in their guest room. Then, slowly, it became clear that they were just living together peacefully. The two ponies were able to interact well with one another, fitting perfectly into and around each other's schedules. They'd go to work, come home and start dinner. Libra would make dinner while Enilari set the table - they'd do it on alternating days. They became more familiar with one another and over the course of time, Libra realized that they'd managed to find perfect balance in a loving relationship, without even knowing it.
After work one day, Libra came home with a ring and a question for their room mate. The next day, Enilari was wearing it.
Somehow, against all odds, Libra had managed to find perfect balance in their workplace, in their home life and in a relationship. Feeling peaceful at long last, Libra vowed to their partner and to themselves, that they would do everything they could to keep their balanced, healthy lifestyle.
