The Adventurers' Guild

You make your way through the valley, off in the distance you see two charizards having a discussion outside what seems to be a quest board, behind the quest board is a rather large cave, which you can only assume is the adventurer's guild you have been directed to by the few locals you passed on your way through town. One of the charizards seem to be a mega charizard. So the rumors were true, mega evolution was possible.

Moving closer to the two charizards you over hear their conversation.

"I know Brother, but its been several days." The mega charizard spoke to the black normal shiny one. Though he wasn't actually a normal shiny, the male had a deep red marking that crossed its neck into his arm, another thing you hadn't seen before. It seems like something was worrying them, perhaps you should see whats up.

A gangly young HootHoot approached the cave timidly, then stopped. Appearing to find the quest board more interesting than a pair of Charizards was a vain quest in itself, so the diminutive bird addressed them directly at a lull in their speech. "Greetings, friends! What's the news, hoot-hoo?"

Stella was pretty sure today was the day. The day for an adventure! Well, at least sort of sure. She was going to give it her best shot. As she neared the spot where she'd been told the Guild was she noticed an obstruction. A pair of them, really. Two large Charizards. The petite Mareep looked them up and down, and then butted right in. "Hi there, ho there, is this the Adventurer's Guild?"

Two pairs of deep crimson eyes landed upon the two pokemon that had arrived, each with their own questions. Zain, the mega charizard who had called the other one brother seemed a bit annoyed that his important conversation was interrupted, but he did not make this annoyance physically known. They were guests after all and maybe they could help him

Zeke, the shiny charizard looked down at the two and answered the questions"Yes, this is," he gave a small nod as he spoke. "We currently are not open for business, as I cannot give out classes and quests until Tyson returns from researching the dungeon that had popped up near here. We want to make sure it is safe and those sent into it have a safe way to return from its depths. Though it does sound like my brother has a problem, and perhaps you can help him out?" Zeke turned to his brother waiting for him to speak.

"We have several problems" the mega charizard replied.

"Several? I thought you were just worried cause Katrina hasn't returned yet. Well, for now just tell them about that one, I'll listen to the other problems you found later."

Zain looked to his brother waiting for him to stop speaking so he could relay it. "My mate, Katrina," he began once he was able to speak again, hopefully this time without interruptions. "She left several days ago to gather medicinal herbs for her potion making, but she has yet to return. I am worried that something has befallen her and she is unable to return"

[Corn]

As the charizard brothers talked, a young mienfoo quietly joined the other two pokemon present. His ears twitched as he listened - a missing person was a serious problem!

"Did she say where she was headed? Perhaps we can try to find her," he suggested, gesturing at the small group of would-be adventurers, "while you and your brother continue working here."

"... ah," he added, after a pause, "if these other two would like to join me, I mean. It would be rude to assume your intent, I apologize."

 

[Ellanoire]

Stella listened, nodding. "Well, that sounds like an adventure anyway. I could go? Or uh ... join these others? Bet three of us could track her down real quick."

She pondered what these other problems possibly were, but those seemed like an issue for another day. Probably.

Zain strained his neck a bit, looking off into the distance, "Uh, she went towards the trees," There was a small pause "But, I feel she would have gone farther to the meadows beyond the forest, resources have been scarce of late, and becoming scarcer."

There was a pause of silence as Zeke seemed lost in thought. "I would feel more at ease if all of you went." He finally spoke. "After all we don't want anymore pokemon to go missing."

It was at that time that a charmander-cosmog fusion teleported in front of the guild. "Ah, Father, Uncle, there you are."

"Tyson," Zeke spoke, "Just in time. Is there anything you need for your research, we got some fine young adventurers about to depart."

"That is what I was about to ask father, is if he had any copper ore left." The charmander fusion replied. "If I had enough i think I can create some items that will allow users to teleport out of the dungeons safely." he explained.

"I do not have any more ore left, we used the last of it for your last experiments." Zain replied.

Zeke turned to the group of adventurers. "Will you also look for copper ore on your journey to find Katrina?" He questioned "I will supply you with some healing items before you go, and reward you when you return."

"Wait, Mother still hasn't returned?" Tyson question seemingly quite worried about that fact. Zain nodded in response to his son's question.

"Then I will go with them to help with the search" Tyson decided. It would be useful for him to go. After all if mother was in trouble he could just teleport them all back to town. "It will be safer that way, and I know the way, and I can give them the run down on the way."

Zeke nodded, that did sound like a better plan, it would prevent everyone from getting lost and having to search for them all over again. He looked down at the group, taking in their numbers "I'll be right back" he spoke before ducking into the cavern behind him, into the guild. Not moments later he returned several items in his arms.

"Before you leave i present you with these. A beginners pack for each of you, with this pack you can carry up to 5 items on you up and up to a stack of 10 of each of those items can fit in this bag. That way if you do find ore or other items on your trip you can store them in here. I've also included one revive and two potions for the each of you in those bags. They should help if you get attacked by other pokemon on the way." Zeke spoke handing the small sacks over to each individual.

Finally nearing what looked to be the adventurer's guild Runo sighed in relief. Honestly, with the sparse and rather muddled directions he had been given he was surprised he made it at all. Not like he could really blame the man who had provided him with the directions toward the guild though. Asking anything of someone who looked they hadn't slept in a couple days on top of being possibly drunk was a gamble. The brief confusion of it all was rather annoying, but he had found his way regardless so there was no point dwelling on the inconvenience further.

Making his way towards the establishment Runo slowed considerably as two charizard came into view. Usually he wouldn't have cared much about the pair but taking a second to inspection the two his interest was piqued. The two were far from normal and Runo couldn't help silently make his way towards them. He stopped just within earshot not wanting to disturb what sounded like an important discussion and proceeded to thoroughly examine each charizard. The mega evolved charizard by far consumed most of his attention. His shiny companion was also rather peculiar with that red marking he possessed, but as Runo was a shiny Litten himself the novelty of the discovery wasn't as intriguing as having a mega evolved individual just feet away. There were rumors that mega evolutions were possible, but until a moment ago the idea of it all had felt like a foolish fantasy to Runo. Knowing the rumors were now true he couldn't help but wonder what could make such a thing possible. Maybe if he was lucky Runo could also become a mega evolved sometime in the future like the charizard before him.

Consumed by discovering of mega evolutions and the possibilities they brought with them the conversation that began unfolding before him went largely unnoticed in his mind. In fact, he didn't event particularly register that others had begun to approach the pair of charizards. It was only when a third charizard had suddenly appeared a few feet away that Runo's attention once more focused on what was happening before him.

As he listened to the conversation the interest he once had begun to wane in the whole ordeal. He had no interest in finding this Katerina person or farming any ore that all sounded rather taxing. From his point of view, it would be much easier to simply wait until the guild was open again after everything was solved.

With his decision made Runo silently stood peering in the direction he had come from. He'd need to find a place to sleep for a few days and wait till this was all over. That was rather tedious as he hadn't planned for such an outcome, but there was nothing he could do about it. With that he turned his back to through began leisurely walking away.

"I will supply you with some healing items before you go and reward you when you return." Hearing this he paused. He was still by no means interested in finding this Katrina or farming ore, but as a newbie adventurer with nothing to his name Runo understood how important such items were especially out in the unknown. He turned his head glancing at the group of new adventurers like himself. 'With such a group it wouldn't be too dangerous of a task' he thought to himself before turning around and making his way towards the group as the charizard named Zeke headed off into the guild for a moment.

"If there is room for another to join this search party with the secondary objective of aquiring some ore I would like to join as well." Runo said as Zeke made his way back towards the group and begun handing out various objects to the others. He waited patiently for an answer. It was quite possible they had enough people already and he wasn't needed which would be rather unfortunate for him, but understandable. Traveling in to large a group could be just as dangerous as traveling alone of course.

"Of course" the charmander fusion spoke, answering the shiny Litten's question. "The more the merrier, after all regular resources have become scare so more eyes on the look out for them the better."

Tyson waited until his uncle Zeke had finished distributing the bag of items to all the newcomers in the vicinity, before motioning with his claw to follow him. "Come shall we begin our journey?"

With that Tyson turned to leave, hoping the others would follow
