Training summary 6/18
Lang wasn't sure about this. He knew that Torchic needed training to get stronger, but surely there was someone better suited to this? All Lang had been good at was doing the performances his mother wanted him to. He wasn't sure that that would do it, but it was the best idea he had.
Getting everything set up, Lang brought torchic to the area and got started on trying to teach her. As he went through the practiced motions, it brought back memories of doing this with other pokemon, for other things.
Halfway through, he stopped to try and calm himself down. Torchic had been following along, but when he stopped she lost interest and began exploring. Lang hardly even noticed as he tried to remind himself that this wasn't the same. Eventually, he just scooped Torchic up and went back inside. They. . .could try again tomorrow. Probably. He would. . find a different way to do this.

6/19/22 Training summary
Lang sucked in a deep breath in preparation to get this done. It wasn't that hard and it was to help better Torchic. She deserved to get stronger, even if it meant he had to use what he knew to help get her trained. There wasn't anybody else to do it. Telling himself that a couple times, Lang got the area set up.
Torchic explored while Lang got everything ready but was pretty amicable to letting him drop her in place instead of continuing. The two of them started out strong, keeping pace with one another and slowly increasing speed. Lang let himself forget that this was something he hadn't wanted to do again and just enjoyed it.
Torchic was getting rid of some of her excess energy and was taking to the training well. As they finished the set for the first time, Lang grinned and picked her up, heaping praise on her. They practiced for awhile longer, until she grew noticeably bored with the activity. Lang, knowing not to push, picked her up and carried her back inside for dinner and eventually bed.

6/20/22 Training Summary
More confident than ever that this was the way that he could do things best, Lang carried Torchic out in what was becoming a ritual for the two of them. Soon there would be a lefmew added to the mix, but for now it was just the two of them. Lang was sure that today Torchic would nail it. She'd been only improving every day they'd practiced.
Lang started the music and they got to work. Torchic, now more than familiar with the rhythm that they were working with, danced along with him. It was cute and Lang was more than grateful nobody had stumbled across the two of them doing this. There'd be more questions than answers and he didn't want Torchic to have any extra attention just yet. At the rate she was going, Lang soon wouldn't have to worry about taking her out on expeditions and her getting hurt. That was the best thought he'd had yet about this training.

6/21/22 training summary
Lang had been training Torchic for at least several days now. Long enough to feel confident in what he was doing. Unfortunately, when he looked into the things that the research team had published about torchic, he realized that he hadn't exactly done the best for torchic. It was time to right that. So the next few days would be training Torchic slightly differently so she would do better all around.
The hardest part was Lang thinking of a different way to do it. He'd been doing training like this for a long while now and it was working. He'd either have to look into how other trainers did it, or fumble about on his own. Deciding that he would just handle this on his own, Lang did a bit more research before trying out a different method. It wasn't as natural to either of them, but it was decent enough.

Unfortunately, it seemed that Torchic wasn't into it today. She refused to even start trying the new method today and kept going back to the old ways.
Lang sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He'd spent a lot of time researching after they finished training together, trying to make sure he was doing this right, and now she wouldn't even attempt it? Aside from trying to force her, there wasn't really anything Lang could do. And he strongly suspected that forcing her wouldn't benefit either of them. She'd just be upset and then Lang would be upset and it would just be a bad time all around. Giving up, Lang just decided to take the day and play with Torchic.

6/23/22 training summary
Another day with nothing to show for it. Lang ran a hand through his hair, tousling it. He'd set everything up and spent over an hour with Torchic trying to get her to train some. She was so close to getting it and having a new way to think of things, but it just wasn't there for her. The worst part was that he couldn't figure out where he was going wrong. Was the training method just not interesting? Was she just understimulated?
Lang was too frustrated with it to try and work on it any more today. With a sigh, he had just scooped Torchic up and gone to do some research with her. Nothing that he would turn in, but definitely something to make sure he knew enough to properly care for her. Maybe once he had a bit more knowledge, he could try to do some more of the research for the things he hadn't turned in yet.

6/24/22 Training summary
With the addition of Leaf, Lang was glad to see that Torchic was more into trying out training. It seemed her issue lay in the fact that it was just her getting trained. Now that she had company, she was more invested in getting things done. It might not have been her top tier effort, but it was enough to get it to click in her head.
Leaf on the other hand, was just happy to be along for this ride. They did much more than anticipated, especially since this was Lang's first time training one of the little guys, and it was enough to get them set up right. Getting their skills honed for things that would be useful was much easier than doing the same with Torchic.
Praising the both of them, Lang was impressed and pleased with the way that they played off each other. Both of them were getting better stats and both of them had someone to improve with.
