Sophie breathed in deeply, the scent of the new gym still thick in the air of the Enrichment Facility. She stood with her hands on her hips, teeming with excitement. The storm was over and her team had finally shipped in; it was time to get started on their training!

First things first, she pulled out Variety's ball, rubbing her thumb over the little brown heart sticker on it. She had decided that Variety would be her control, a forever-eevee. Sophie decided to focus them on physical training, increasing their strength over their speed, as Eevee was mostly a physical attacker. So she spent an hour running her through attack sequences. By the end, the timid Eevee was panting and tired, but her Tackles were making solid improvements.

She recalled Variety and pulled out her newest team member; Variance. This one had been adopted from the Facility. She had no idea what their lineage was like, where they came from, nothing. But the mystery interested her. She decided to do basic training with them today, to see where their strengths lie. After an hour, Variance sat calmly licking a paw. Clearly, they'd have to take it to the next level tomorrow.

Sophie looked at her watch and frowned, they only had an hour left. Who to train next? She chose a ball at random and sent out Scooter, her Jolteon. She grinned as the speedy girl bolted around the gym. After a few laps, she called her to her side, deciding to go over some of the basics as a warm-up. By the end of the training session, she felt confident in Scooter's ability.

Sophie walked into the gym with a look of determination. There was something about the atmosphere that had her pumped! The smell of the waxed floor, the sound of others training around her. Whatever it was, she snatched Variance's ball from her belt and released him. She'd focus on the Eevees for now, she thought.

Today, the calm little Eevee really leaned into the training regime Sophie put them through. They completed every obstacle and challenge presented to them! The lavender-haired trainer beamed proudly at her new little friend. "Great job!"

Next up came Variety. Sophie wanted to see how the Eevee's new, very physical, approach would affect their training. Into the routine they went, tiny paws kicking and tackles landing solidly against the training dummies. Pleased with their work, Sophie took her Pokemon into the changing room and gave them a nice bath and brushing when they were all finished.

By day three, it seemed Sophie was getting into the swing of things. There was something so satisfying about a scheduled gym routine. She first did an hour for herself, mostly running and light lifting; she had removed the stair climber from her set, being on the top floor of the apartment building was work out enough. Then she would move on to her Pokemon, focusing on the Eevee's first.

Variance was proving to be such a pleasant surprise. He picked up on the rhythm of their obstacle course quite quickly! If it was not for his unknown heritage, she almost wanted to put him in shows. But she shook her head and worked him for speed next. There was more to this than winning ribbons, after all!

Variety was also performing well, although she wasn't switching over from contest training to battle training as fast or as smoothly as Sophie would have liked. She tried a new approach today, it paid off decently.

When they were done, it was off to the showers!
