Attention Everyone - We've got a Few Major Shop Updates!
Please make sure to read over everything carefully! <3​

We have introduced a new breed tpe ot the shop earlier this year, the Persian!





We've made some changes to the Leader role! You can read about it fully at the Clan Application Thread, but TL;DR:
  • Players may now own a max of TWO Leaders!
  • We clearly defined the Responsibilities of Leaders and their Owners
  • Made contingency plans to handle inactive Leaders
On that note, we want to remind you all that Clans can technically be made at any time! You can read more about them in the Clan Application Thread! And for our loners, Loner Colonies are something you should look into as well!

Adding to this, we officially have our second colony for the shop, the Storm Born. It is located on a mountain top on the other side of the river from MountainClan (the map will be updated officially soon enough. It is also open to accepting new members. Please take a good look at the setting before applying! Every clan and colony can have different rules about who can and can't join.
We also have added more to our official map!



CotS does not condone the mutilation of animals, especially for the sake of aesthetic. Cats with piercings and tags will be done very rarely, as these choices cause in game consequences to your cat. They will not pass down through breedings and can only be found on kittypets or loners with prior kittypet history.

But That's Not ALL! ​
First off, we're sure you all have noticed the increase in non-natural cats becoming more and more available. We're pleased to announce that we are indeed opening up our limited color ranges! Secondly, welcome, everyone, to Cats of the Sun's Spring Breeding Event! For the month of April, we will be celebrating the end of winter with a variety games and prizes! And lots and lots of kittens! -> Any breeding picked up in April will have its maximum number of kits raised from 5 to 6!
  • 4 kits base if each parent is owned by different user, 3 if the parents are owned by the same user
+1 kit if you link to a completed roleplay between the parents
  • RP between Mom and Medicine Cat lowers the chance of dead kits from 10% to 5%
  • Extra kits can be obtained by purchasing them via the DP Shop or by using our new +1 Kit Token!
-> Keep an eye out for mini games that will be giving out stray Kittens and lost tokens! -> Staff will be hosting a multi-artist Breeding Thread with various themes! Users can enter once for each available artist and winners will be chosen at the colorists choice!


This month will be the start of the new Patrol & Lifestyle Encounter System! Simply put, this is an entirely optional way to play! Every location, from the Clan Territories to The Settlement, The Suburbs to The Outer Wilds, any certed cat can pull from their allocated prompt list currently found in each location's [ Setting ] post! These prompts allow for your cats to test their luck and see how they deal with all kinds of Encounters. These are an excellent way to earn DP for your cats! Train your Apprentices! Explore your world! Be careful however, because some of these Encounters will lead to fights and battles where your cat may be injured or, should you and your group choose to press their luck and go for the kill, possibly even die. Death Raffles are making a return, but, as always, will remain entirely optional except for applicable Clan Leaders. They will be held every three months and for every five cats that are entered, one cat will be rolled. The remaining cats will be entered into the Scar Raffle for the chance at earning exclusive Battle Scars! All the information on Patrols & Lifestyle Encounters can be found in the thread below. We've also written up a quick mock battle to walk you step by step through our combat system! Good luck out there!
