Twilight Town is a herd based around the managing and growing of the small community that sprang up near the moonlight lilies and the Sweet Dreams Tea house. The town began to form not too long after the first Festival of Lights held at the lake.
Ponies in this herd often have roles within the city itself. From local government positions to doctors, teachers, and shop owners. Any pony can live in the city without being part of the herd but they will definitely find themselves interacting with ponies from the herd on a regular basis.
Due to its proximity, Aviary's tea house is a big draw to the town and has set the tone for how the village has developed thus far. While she isn't part of the government itself, she is a Very Important Pony. Her tea house and the beautiful local environment are major draws for travelers and sight seers.
The local government holds environment and health in high regard because of this reputation. Local industries are primarily farming, forestry, and healthcare. Zoning is very carefully thought out and materials sourced thoughtfully for construction of everything from homes to businesses.
One might describe many areas like living in or on the edge of a beautiful park.

-Basic Information-
Purpose:
The Twilight Town herd is about recreating that small town 'ponyville' experience where even background characters are Prominent to somepony and how those ponies effect a city as it grows.
Leader:
Seimei with her Earth Pony, Asteria, who will act as Mayor.
Location:
Twilight Town is part of Dream Valley and is nestled between the Moonlight fields and a small lake locally known as 'Mirror Lake.' This town sprang up around Aviary's tea house.
How to Join/Leave:
Joining is as easy as posting the form found later in the thread and Leaving is just as easy.
Like any town, folks come and go but connections and friendships will never be forgotten.

-Festivals Observed-
Other festivals will be considered and added overtime but these are a few the sleepy town tries to promote.
February 15th- Dream Festival -Other festivals will be considered and added overtime but these are a few the sleepy town tries to promote.
A time to pray for blessings from as well as give thanks to the Alicorns of Love and Fertility.
Even if the pony doesn’t want children, they may often pray on behalf of other ponies in the herd.
March 22nd- Momento Day -
The dead are remembered this day. Family and friends may gather to clean and decorate tombs.
May 16th - Planting Festival -
Ponies gather to plant trees and plants to help the earth. Followers often check on the plants around their homes or volunteer to help clean parks, streams, or shores.
June 1st - Festival of Lights -
A special festival which honors the Dreamer.
It's a time they gather for viewings of the night sky, setting lanterns to float on the nearby lake, and wishes and dreams are tied to trees in hopes they will come true.
August 9th - Feather Fest -
A day for the birds. Feeders are filled to the brim and plants checked on to see how wild harvest might be for the fall and winter for the wild birds.
August 15th -Thousand Meteor Shower -
Every year, a beautiful meteor shower takes place for the entire night. Followers gather near the lake to watch the thousands of fiery jewels streak by.
September 23rd - Mushroom Race -
Ponies race to find the most mushrooms. The fellowship will often do this as a team to stock their kitchen as well as donate any excess to the needy.
Last Thursday of November - Feast of Plenty -
The Herd sets up a large table in the town hall and open their feast to all who wish to attend.
December 22nd - Giving Day -
The Herd will often gather donations ahead of this date to give to charities, hospitals, and shelters of different kinds.
December 31st - New Years Eve -
Well wishes for the new year are given to friends and family. Dreams from this night are said to have special meaning for the coming year.

-Meet the Mayor-
She met with the folks gathered there and recommended Asteria for the job. Those first years where a huge learning experience for this young pony but she was up to the task! While she's learned a lot of lessons and made a lot of mistakes, she's made a lot of connections and friends along the way.
Asteria is proud to be Mayor of Twilight Town.
