Now that it's time to order a custom you need to know what you can and cannot order.
While some of this was covered in the post above, hopefully this answers more direct questions
one may have.
Check the rules for the thread you're entering! Some artists prefer different slots. First start by checking what they allow when it comes to edit levels and how much freedom they have in design. This will prevent you from entering forms that break their rules.
You may custom Generation One characters, meaning you cannot receive mockbreedings. You cannot request a custom to be the child of existing characters. Children should be received only via breedings. You may have a pony be adopted, however!
You may custom siblings or cousins to Generation One characters. You may not for any generation further, as it begins to get into mockbreeding territory. Primarily, an easy way to remember these rules is we'd like to see family building be done via official breedings.
You may custom b/c pets/adoptables you have in other shops into M4S. We will need to see proof of ownership, which can be done by presenting a cert with your name, proof of purchase, or speaking to the original artist to confirm they are yours. This is not our responsibility, and we will not do so for you. If the character you have comes from a shop/adoptable/location that does not allow you to get that character elsewhere you may not receive them here.
You also may custom unedited, edited, and heavy edited ponies with the understanding that certain edit levels (anything above unedited) will be harder to receive. Artists have a system that helps them know when they can take on certain edits and breeds. Check the breed guide, as anything not common will require the artist to "save up" for. Mystics follow the same system. Do not ask what artists can take on, it is up to them to release that info. They will pick slots as they can.
You may custom cosplays! Cosplays should be of characters presented in media for public consumption. Good examples are; characters from the game Kingdom Hearts, characters from the anime/manga Inuyasha, or a character from a movie like How to Train Your Dragon.
As mentioned above, you may not custom mockbreedings. You cannot request a custom to be the child of existing characters. Children should be received only via breedings. You may have a pony be adopted, however! You also cannot custom in siblings for Generation Two and onward, as it enters mockbreeding territory. Primarily, an easy way to remember these rules is we'd like to see family building be done via official breedings.
You may not custom an adoptable or design you do not own. When using adoptables or b/c pets for design inspiration or direct conversion we will need proof you own it. You also cannot custom an adoptable from a shop/group that prohibits that design being used elsewhere, even with proof you own it. Check with the original community first before customing them into M4S.
Cosplays of OCs. An OC is not considered media made for public consumption, and we have the right to reject cosplays in areas we feel is inappropriate. You may custom your own OC into the shop, by all means, but do not take the design or character of another to bring into the shop. For example, the OC of a Tumblr artist you follow is not allowed to be cosplayed, while Sailor Moon from the manga/anime Sailor Moon can be.
You may not custom using inspiration from art you do not source. If you are using art as inspiration you must credit the original artist. You must also understand we will not copy their work entirely; it is just inspiration.
You can not custom Alicorn/Awakened/Hybrid's unless special slots are open to do so. We will announce those times.
Anything not considered acquirable on the body through a breed normally or through a morph is a curiosity.
Glow is not considered a curiosity, and minor mouth changes are not (within reason). A pony can have a snake-like tongue poking out without it being considered a curiosity, but if it becomes extreme it is (examples are a tongue that hits the floor, a tongue shaped like a hand, etc etc). Eye colors, sclera colors, and different pupils are not considered curiosities. You can have pure white eyes or rainbow eyes with diamond pupils all you want!
Edits that do not change the body are clothing and accessories, which you may be free to custom! Hair counts as an edit if not a template we are offering, and length changes the severity of the edit. Long hair is often considered a heavy edit due to the time it takes to create. You may, prior to receiving your custom, indicate you'll allow us to donate hair for shop use to lower the edit level. You must understand the hair will become templated for future creations, and not all artists will allow you to template!
Stitches are, usually, considered an edit if not a marking. You may have stitches as a marking or stitches physically on the pony (which turns it into an edit). It must be understood that stitches cannot hold together skin for normal customs; they are an aesthetic choice a pony does to themselves that might highlight patchwork markings they have. Ponies with these edits are not considered to have skin-like fabric, or skin held together. If you want a pony that has stitches that keep their body together that would need to be a curiosity.
Scars, wounds, and disabilities are allowed. The world has magical prosthetic and you may request them! Those will not always pass in breedings, and not be considered a curiosity.
Always check the morph guide! You can receive a lot of various edits via morphs, which drastically change the edit level of your custom!
As mentioned above, RLC is locked to the line owners (Nym and Tea) and the head lineartist (polliwoggi). Nym and Tea will announce when they're accepting RLC orders. Do not request RLC from anyone else, or when they're closed.
