Notes: Kai - Kai is a well traveled Angelfish. Wayfinder always takes Kai with them when they go out to sea, keeping them in a special tank made for traveling on a ship. Kai also has a charm that can be used in the few instances where he can be in a tank. Is considered a good luck charm by Wayfinder and some of the crews they've sailed with.

Personality: Charlies is a warped and disturbed pony. He's very creepy and while he may have his 'good' moments where he is more 'normal' (as in he acts like a normal pony and doesn't appear to have any issues) than usual, for the most part he is a psycho. He enjoys tormenting others, especially children or those who don't like clowns. Don't let him find you in a dark alley or place as you're not likely to make it out unscathed if you make it out at all.
History: Charlies family comes from a line of clown performers some of which had some mental issues. It's been a known issue in the family that is passed down from time to time. Not everyone in the Smiles family has a mental disability and sometimes those that do are able to manage it. And sometimes they just go plain nuts which isn't even due to a mental illness. A couple generations ago they ran into an interesting pony (father of Nym's demon sheep) who gave them a cursed item that makes whoever owns it want to do a murder. The curse magic in the item was fading but Demon Sheep encountered Charlies father who had the item and refreshed the spell just before it was given to Charlies' older sister. SPOILER ALERT

Spoiler: due to violence/trauma

Charlies' older sister ended up being cursed with the want to murder feeling and she ended up murdering their parents while he watched. She even tried to get him to help although he was too shocked to do anything. So she ended up in the end guiding him through the motions after their parents had already passed. She was caught shortly after and thrown in prison while he was sent to a distant family member.

It ended up scarring him mentally and he threw himself into becoming a 'perfect' happy clown. However he only succeeded in becoming creepy happy, scaring many other ponies some which began to bully him over it. It got so bad that he eventually snapped and hurt another pony which sparked something dark in him.
