Yeah, no, there was only so much "don't-do-what-I-wouldn't" that Jaxx could promise, and this was NOT one of those situations. He immediately bee-lined for the vent, his entourage of companions chittering and chiming behind him.

The vent is a bit hard to see thru, so you make swift use of your dexterity to pry off the cover.
Aaand the light is gone... but not the noises.
You can hear something getting further and further away from you.
Huh...
Well, the vent IS wide enough to crawl through, if you're tempted?
Or maybe you'd rather go check out the lockers?
What will you do?

Goodbye reason, hello crawling through the vent!

Ah yes, crawling thru a dusty vent, everyone's favorite pasttime.
You inch forward carefully, every creak a cause to a pause and make sure you're not going to go falling anywhere, and a rather abrupt turn once in a while making you wonder just how much longer this goes on for... until you see it.Another vent, a little light trickling through.
You quirm a little faster, push the vent cover off, and...
It's a very small room, small colorful tables and chairs encircling small round tables.
Drawing in crayon cover the walls, but that's not what you should really be focusing on when....

It seems you've stumbled upon a little pony, and boy are they giving you a very blank, threatening stare.
Will you confront them? Or do you think running back thru the vent will save you?

The stare should be enough. It should have threatened Jaxx back into the vent, he knew. He had promised Nain, after all, but, well-- this wasn't real, was it? And even if it was, Jaxx couldn't promise their actions would be any different.

So, instead, they popped out of the vent and grinned. "Yo~"

Jaxx has chosen to confront.

YOU DID IT! The figure makes a made lunge for you, and you swerve out of the way just in time, and the pony collapses on the floor.
And moans. You blink a few times, and they sit up to look you in the eyes, "Relax, it's just a game, you don't have to run THAT badly..."
Oh. Huh. You help them to their feet, dust off some dirt, and make a face when realization hits.
This whole thing was an elaborate experiment, and as the pony in front of you hands you a 30% off coupon for their next haunted attraction, and you can't help but feel a little suckered into it.
Eh, at least they still promised to pay you for the night...

CONGRATS! You've bested the scare actor and they will follow you home, a completely normal thing for strangers to do! Yippee!
You can head over to the 'Game Over' thread and make a post there for a chance at ponies from other floors & a freebie companion.

Jinx was excited to have yet another new friend! Was it a sibling to the other? Welp! Time to check the toy counter!

The lockers seem interesting enough, so you wander over to open them.... and there's combinations on most of them.
You reach for the only one that's open, and a shadow falls over you from behind.
You turn around and see a very unfamiliar face...

Well, that's certainly something interesting.
Do you want to confront them? Or maybe you want to go around and lose them thru the vent?
Which will you choose?

Upon approaching the toy counter, the tinkling of a music box catches your attention, and you're instantly drawn to the melodic tune.
You inch closer, and it suddenly stops, but a shadow is cast over both you and the box.
You turn around quickly, and find out why...

Well, someone else seems to have been drawn to the music.
They're even humming ominously.
Did you want to confront them? Or maybe run off into the Maintenance Room to lose them?

The bunny grinned, the movement a bit eerie, before moving backwards away from you, silently, staring the whole way.
You glance back at the music box, tempted to offer it to them, but when you whip back around, there's no sight of them, as if they'd never been there to begin with.
Odd.

This does however mean that's you've looked at every inch of this room... maybe we should go give a look at that Maintenance Room?

The door to the Maintenance Room was oddly stuck, and you had to shoulder it with a significant amount of force to get it open. With a creak, the sight before you really give more of an illusion of a staff lounge than an actual room for maintenance, with lockers along the back wall and a couples of shelving units to the left wall.

You can hear skittering noises to you right, and the vent in the wall seems to have a strange glow emitting from it, and as fast as you can blink, you wear something passes by the light.
Should you check out the vent? Or maybe you'd rather root through those lockers?
What will you choose?

Eugh, some little toy figure of a colt with a propeller hat holding balloons. It's kind of freaky looking, and its eyes seem to follow you.
Wrinkling your nose [or maybe considering taking the thing as a prop], you shut the locker with a sigh.
Nothing useful.
Maybe now would be a good time to check out that vent?
Or there's always going back out the way we came and looking for something else to nose in?
