A set of tracks you've found in some soft soil quickly turns into a living discovery - you find a pokémon napping in the shade of a gnarled bough of one of the few, sea-breeze-twisted trees on the grasslands. Its sleep isn't too deep though, as your approach causes it to twitch.

On success, battle becomes optional. If you choose to engage, roll a Wild Battle and the opponent begins the battle with Sleep. On failure, roll a Wild Battle.

Another Sentret! Perfect. Three days in and they were starting to get the hang of this "wild pokemon battling" thing. Pip started to move closer to the sleeping pokemon, signaling Little Guy to follow at heel, but they forgot that there was one key difference between this expedition and their previous ones... their newly acquired Chingling was out with them too. Yesterday they had kept the little psychic bell in their pokeball, so they only had to handle one, but they didn't think it was very fair for only Little Guy to get the fresh air.

Unfortunately Chingling was both less adept at reading Pip's cues, and a literal bell. It drifted forward past Pip, spotting the Sentret and ringing in excitement! The wild pokemon woke up and the battle was on...
