History:
Growing up in Petalburg City at first her family life was happy and good. Her older brother was her hero and loved technology so she had a dream to work with him taking care of computers and dreamed herself to be a master hacker and programmer. But when she was almost 6 her mothers affair came to light and at seven there was a messy nasty divorce. Her older brother was much older then her, ten years in fact and he tried to shield her as much as he could often taking her out and making sure she was taken care of. Still when the divorce happened her brother got to choose to go with their dad and she was ordered by the judge to go live with her mother. Her mother wasn’t supposed to up and leave as she learned latter but it didn’t matter her mother up and took her to a different region and her life changed drastically. She lived in a run down apartment in that new location and watched with young eyes as her mother turned into a manipulative, abusive, alcoholic who drank all their funds away. With her mother drowning herself in drugs, drinking, and degenerate men. Mel turned to theft and doing pretty much anything she could to survive. She ended up joining a gang that ended up a more known criminal organization where her theift and criminal behavior continued. She had been in and out of juvenile detention many times. Pokemon centers, marts, homes didn’t matter she followed her orders and took whatever she could. She has stolen pokemon and equipment food, awards, vehicles but never could manage to abuse or hurt a person or pokemon. The idea makes her stomach turn and she can’t do it as she has flashbacks of her own mother beating and hurting her as a child. She had a cruel and creep of a team boss who made her life a nightmare as they didn’t get along after she refused to let him feed a caterpie she had at the time to his spearrow back when they were both grunts. During a mission a shop keeper they were stealing from arrived due to an alarm and Mel was told to beat the old man, she couldn’t do it and several members of the group had their faces seen and sketches were released to the public allowing the police in the city to get closer and it was only time before the group was caught so Mel was made into the fall person and got arrested while the group escaped. Her mother who was abusive found a new lover and left the region so Mel was left all alone in jail with no one she had to care for and steal for anymore and not a soul to care for her if she lived or died so she repented and gave up. The correctional officers there actually took pity on her as she wasn’t evil per say and helped her see she could go to a new place and start over and helped suggest the program to head to the island. She still isn’t sure if she deserves a new chance but is willing to try.

Have a favorite pokémon?: darn right! Raichu is the best pokemon it’s a chunky cute huggable!! I mean it’s an awesome electric type
Remember any of their childhood dreams?: At one time she dreamed to be an expert computer programmer and hacker and work along side her older brother.
Have any ambitions for the future?: A new start where she isn’t dogged by her past misdeeds and can hopefully live a better life.
Have any phobias or irrational fears?: honestly she has a fear her older brother will hate her and leave her too like her father. honestly she hasn't seen him in years though so he may well be dead, but just the idea of her brother finding out what kind of life she lead and hating her is a deep fear as she has no one left to count on or who loved her and cared for her in her past.
Have a secret food, toy, smell, or item that brings them comfort when they encounter it?: on the inside of her wallet she has part of a piece of paper that is actually from a cd insert with some lyrics on it. It’s all that’s left of her half of the lyrics book.
Remember what drove them to crime or to join a Team?: After her parents divorced and her father and brother left she was left with her mother who was manipulative and a drunk. Their finances took a hit and her mother kept taking everything she had whenever she had it so Mel started to steal and ended up joining a criminal group for money to help cover bills and just take care of herself and her mother.
Remember what made them realize they wanted out?: When her mother found a new lover and just up and left Mel in jail after Melody had stolen equipment for the team and ended up having to be the scape goat for the team as the police got to close. There had been several lovers and toys before then but this time her mother just up and left the region with the man so all Mel was left with was debt, a crappy apartment in a run down unsafe part of the town and criminal record. She had nothing no help, no others to rely on and she broke in jail and decided to leave as she had no point for anything anymore.
HAVE THEY EVER ...
Flown on a plane or a large pokémon?: No she has been in trucks and in carts pulled by large Pokemon but never flown in her life.
Ridden on a train?: only once when her mother left her father and they moved to another region.
Listened to an orchestral concert?: On CD several times but never in person in a seat. There has been a few times she has been in an alley outside a local theature and could hear part of the performance but she could never afford the tickets to sit in person. Honestly though a rock concert would bring her more joy so she wouldn’t go after a ticket unless dragged along for someone else anyway.
Gone swimming in the ocean?: Yes she has been to the ocean several times in her youth when her parents were still happy and her world hadn’t fallen apart. It’s actually one of the reason she isn’t fond of water types as they just remind her of how happy she was a a child and then after the divorce how her life fell apart.
Had a near death experience?: Yes. She has been in a car accident escaping a heist stealing a markets supply of pokeballs and the tire blew out and the driver lost control of the car and it rolled down an embankment hit a tree. She has a few scars on her shoulders and legs from the accident. Her other near death experience is far less dramatic. She was crossing the road and a careless driver nearly hit her as they weren’t paying attention. A random stranger pulled her back and saved her life. She can’t remember his name.
Had a significant other?: Sort of? She has had several boyfriends and even a girlfriend but with her work as a grunt she feared getting to close as if they weren’t part of the group they could turn on her and put her in jail and if they were part of the group they could end up in jail and she would be alone or like what happened to her latter one of them would be made a scape goat and the risk of betrayal would be high.
Lost a friend or loved one?: Yes but they are still alive. Probably. She had an older brother who she idolized. She lover her parents but her brother was a whole 10 years older then her and took time to help take care of her when she was little so she loved him dearly. Then her mother’s affair came to light, and when she was seven and there was a nasty messy divorce where she was placed with her mother and they moved.
Tried caramel popcorn?: Yes. She has gone to the movies a few times, well snuck in more then she paid but hey who really keeps track of that. And you can’t see a movie without some popcorn. She has no qualms if someone leaves a half empty popcorn by their seat and they leave she would sneak in grab it and leave before the staff came to clean while she just snuck into a different theature and watched the movie in that one.
Practiced a craft or visual art?: Lock-picking counts as a craft right? She has practiced that a lot. She has also practiced disguise and looking unobtrusive. Did you know if you where a pair of overalls and carry a tool box you can get into most any building and very few folks question you when you look like maintenance or a janitor? Not even kidding on that one.
Learned to play an instrument?: She had to play one of those little kid recorders while she was still going to school so she knew how to play a few songs at one point but doesn’t remember how to anymore. She also never learned another
Caught a wild pokémon?: wild as in from the woods and not stolen from a Pokemon center or inattentive folks in the city right? Yes a few times she has trained and caught some Pokemon in the woods and grassy areas around the city
Released a pokémon?: yes. She once had a caterpie that was weak and useless and one of her teammates wanted her to actually feed it to his Spearrow. Guy was a real freak in her eyes. She refused but eventually he got promoted for doing a really good job and while she didn’t really like the caterpie she didn’t want it to be eaten or abused by that jerk since he could order her to give it to him so she took and released it instead. She told the guy and that is what started his real issue with her and latter when he was her grunt group leader and they needed a fall man she was ‘volentold’ she would play the part.
Known Criminal History: Team rocket grunt. While not the most powerful member, in fact quite weak overall even compared to her own teammates Mel was only a low level grunt who was easy to replace and often getting passed up for promotions as she wasn’t as ‘greedy’ or ‘ambitious’ as other members. Mel has been involved in a number of crimes. Some would be petty some less so. She has committed larceny multiple times as she as stolen form pokemon centers, markets, homes, you name it she has likely tried to steal form it. She hasn’t always gotten away with it but she didn’t make it easy on the police and has resisted arrest several times. She has committed arson but never got caught thankfully. She burned down a storage barn after stealing the pokemon feed out of it as per her orders. She has destroyed property and trespassed many times. She has never abused a pokemon or a person though. Damage to property is one thing but she can’t stand the idea of hurting a person or a pokemon. This actually lead to the cops getting to close and her group in the organization ended up needing a fall person and because she wouldn’t hurt the shop keep they had stolen from she was ‘volentold’ to take the position and ended up in jail.
Something Positive: Her hair. It’s like her older brothers though his is more purplish then her hair is. But it makes her remember when he used to pat her head when he played with her as a child and took her places listening to his cd player with her since her parents were busy screaming at each other. She grew her hair long enough to braid so she could flip it over her shoulder and rub and touch it as it’s a comfort to her.
Something Negative: Her eye color. It’s like her mothers and every time she looks closely at her eyes in the mirror she can see and hear every insult her mother hurtled at her over the years. Only to latter hear the pleading her mother did gaslighting her and evoking guilt in Mel. It left a large impact on Mel and there are times when lying Mel dislikes herself as she feels like she is like her mother in some way and that makes her want to vomit. She can’t stand looking at her eyes so she focuses elsewhere when looking in a mirror often ends up focusing on her hair due to that as it has better memories.

Personality Overview: She isn’t brave, or wise but she is normally fairly likable. She is desperate to survive and willing to steal and break things to do so, she carries a great amount of guilt and regret for what she does but she wants to survive and even though she was abused physically and emotionally by her mother she felt the need to take care of her as once she is close to someone she will sympathize more with them that is healthy for her own good. (those weekly therapy sessions will be very helpful to her mental state) Since her mother and team up and abandoned her she has been listless and repentant. Those cops who have seen her before had seen far more fire and spark then what she is like now. She put in an application to the island at the recommendation of a correctional office who noticed she wasn’t as violent or malicious as other members they have had in the past.

- Creative having to make do little in her life she is very creative and comes up with quick solutions to many problems. They may not always be effective but as long as they get the job done then it should be fine.
- Steadfast in spite of her past there are some lines she will not cross even to her own detriment. She could have advanced further in the criminal organization if she had been willing to hurt or abuse others but she will never do so. Once she sets that line it becomes immovable even if it costing her getting caught and loosing a lot
- Loyal she doesn't get close easily but once she has someone she cares for she will go the distance for them. due to her being prone to letting most things go this limits things she can be loyal to though. she will always trust and would listen to her brother but the relationship with her father she would never pursue even if he reached out. She is fiercely loyal to and protective of her Pokémon as no matter what they were perhaps the only thing she has even been able to count on.
- Unambitious if she has a place to eat and sleep and play around and listen to music she really won't want more. Even if the reward is great and wonderous she doesn't have a lot of gumption to go after it.
- Guilt Ridden no matter how much therapy she has or how long it's been there will always be a part of her that carries her past misdeeds with her. It does affect her greatly as some conversations such as about family make her shut down and want to just go and cry.
- Prone to abandoning things, when it comes to options Mel can get finicky. She doesn't need top grade or high end things but knows what she likes and if doesn't suit her anymore she will leave it behind. This can lead to her abandoni0ng things that she likely should keep. It does affect objects of course but this can also apply to relationships. Her loyalty to her mother made her ignore other hands that could have reached out and helped her in the past. Others in the criminal organization who could have become friends she didn't realize their worth beyond their skills so she didn't' nurture those relationships and ended up with few on her side when it mattered
