Carnivore wants to press on

Carnivore rolled her eyes at the doe's apologies. Damsel in distress, they were always so sickly sweet apologetic. She turned back to Thornapple as he waffled back in forth.

"You've been here before haven't you? Why do we need to waste our time finding someone to hold our hands?"

Xialien agrees with the stranger

Xialien was kind of torn. On the one hand, this buck seemed pretty insistent that something was happening and he needed help, and Xialien didn't want to be singled out at the bad guy if something did go wrong. On the other hand, defended everything sounded like an awful lot of work.

In the end, his fear of being singled out won over. "Okay, fine. Where are the intruders?"

Bolete disagrees with the stranger

Bolete side glanced with irritation at the visitor. He was carrying on so much he was ruining her apply gathering concentration. How tiresome his doom and gloom was, life was too short for this nonsense. So there might be visitors they were probably refugees from the other end of the swamp sneaking inor something.
"Could you calm down please we really need to get the harvest in before the weather changes! Maybe put your agitation to use and pick up some apples?" She called to him, clearly annoyed as she nudged an extra-large apple toward a pile.

Thornapple considered each rabbit's response in turn. It seems like most in the group wanted to seek out the dwarf. "I'm pretty sure she lived over this this ..." He gestures to some very thick brush. It's quite the squeeze to get through, but sure enough, once everyone is through the brush, there's a burrow. Thornapple practically beams when he sees it. "What good luck! This was hardly out of our way at all!"

He hops over the burrow, peeking into it. It sure seems like someone's home. "Um, hello? It's me, Thornapple again. You helped me out a couple of seasons back. Could you uh ... maybe help us to the north swamp?"

It's quite for a very long moment, before the answer sounds out from the tunnel. "No." Thornapple's mouth falls open, unsure of what to do next.

If your rabbit did not submit an answer last round it's assumed they voted to find the dwarf

While not everyone seems to agree with the stranger, some surely do. This seems to whip the stranger into an even greater state of excitement. "Together, we can find this outsiders and sabotage them! Then they'll never even dream of coming into the swamp again!" He stamps his foot, to emphasize his point.

Snake volunteers to go with the stranger

All this talk of invaders had Snake riled up. The last thing they needed was outsiders coming in and making a muckery of everything. He eagerly volunteered to help the the other dwarf in stopping the outsiders.

Well. That hadn't been the answer they'd been hoping for, though maybe it was the one he'd expected. These dwarfs sure were stubborn. He thought maybe they could sway he with a nice offering. That seemed to work for the spirits at least.

Junie tries to convince dwarf

Junie was still very wet and a bit chilled when they found the burrow. She was looking forward to them getting help and getting on their way. Her ears drooped at the blunt response of the local bun. Oh no, what would they do now?
"Please friend, we are cold and wet... well I am, and our friends are missing. We desperately could use some help and then we will leave you alone for good, I promise!" She wasn't really sure what else she could say to help convince the bunny she had never met and knew nothing about.

Bolete will try to follow at a distance

Bolete sighs in extreme exasperation. The stranger is quite riled up now and getting the others wound up too. There is not much apple harvesting happening anymore, so what is the use trying to ignore him, it wasn't making him leave. She doesn't agree with the fellow but if he is going to lead a bunch of them off into some sort of disaster she figures she might just tag along in case things get hairy or they need help.

Peachfuzz suggests moving on.

The stout rabbit turned to Thornapple and the others with a sigh. "Well I guess that's that." She didn't really want to press the issue, even though a moment earlier she had suggested they find this mystery bun. But she knew she didn't have the powers of persuasion at her side. She shrugged. Others stepped up and pleaded with the dwarf, trying to appeal to the mystery doe's better nature, and at least one had broken from the group in search of something.

Ladybug volunteers to go with the stranger!

"Bugs and buns stick together!" Ladybug proclaimed as she joined the strange bun's side. If what he said was true then something must be done! Ladybugs might be small but they are mighty, especially in numbers! She nodded affirmatively to herself that this was the right decision.

Thornapple leaned down the burrow. "Really, you were just so helpful last time! We could really use it again! After that well ... We'll be on our way, we promise! Right out of the swamp!" He looked to the others, hoping they'd back him up. While no interesting offers had been turned up for the dwarf, there did seem to be a lot of accidental stomping around on the top of her burrow.

Eventually a grumpy little face poked out. "Thought I was done with you the last time! Now you wanna go somewhere else? Mishap, take us here. Mishap, take us there. And what do I get in return? Nothing, of course." The little white rabbit grumbled and she climbed out of her burrow. "Now if you'd kindly stop STOMPING AROUND on my home, lets get this over with."

She shot an icy little glare around the group. "I can't take you all the way, but I'll get you to the boundary." Just like that, she took off, clearly expecting the group to follow her.

If your rabbit did not submit an answer last round it's assumed they attempted to convince the dwarf.

The stranger seemed thrilled with the following he'd amassed. The detractors didn't bother him, not one bit. "We'll make out final stand on the boundary of the North Swamp! We won't let a single outsider across it!" His proclamation was bold. Very bold.

Some rabbits chose to trail behind the first group, perhaps to see what they were up to. When the arrived near the boundary, the stranger hopped up onto a rock, and explained his plan. "We're going to set a trap! We'll string vines across this opening, and attach them to the deadfall over there. We'll load the top of the dead fall with stones. If some outsider tries to come through here they'll set it off for sure! And then we won't have to worry about invaders anymore!" The stranger seemed awfully pleased with this plan, regardless of how outlandish it sounded.

If your rabbit did not respond in the last round they are assumed to have followed the dwarf at a distance.

Bolete tries to warn the other rabbits

Bolete sat and watched the crazy bun as he excitedly explained his plan. She blinked, he was so crazy, why were others listening to this craziness? Seeing the deadfall and the vines, she thought it unlikely any of this would actually work, but if it did it could hurt rabbits indiscriminate of where they were from. She was all for keeping to themselves, but this was out of hand. What if it was just innocent buns that liked to peek into one end of the swamp or the other for fun?
"This is a terrible idea you guys." She warned the group with him, then set off to warn anyone else around that might listen that this fool was making trouble.

Junie sticks close to the dwarf

Junie laid her ears back, looking chagrined. She hadn't meant to harass the poor swamp dwarf. But she was glad they had convinced her to help one way or another, even if it was out of sheer annoyance. Seeing the white bun dart off, she shook herself and quickly sped off after her to not lose her in the unfamiliar swamp. Junie was trying very hard to not get into any more trouble and just followed the rabbit the best she could!

Peachfuzz tries to also look for clues.

Peach wasn't half as quick as the dwarf, or the others. She tried to keep up but still found herself trailing a good distance behind. Peachfuzz stopped to catch her breath. It was a futile effort. Her body just wasn't made for speed. Instead she loped behind the group at a staggered pace, letting her eyes roam over the swamp just in case anything stood out.

Ladybug helps set a trap

Lady eyed the opening the stranger was determined to use. It was doable. Some buns that had travelled with them were not as confident. They claimed the trap could hurt non-invaders. And though she conceded that that could be true, she also felt that the risk was minimal. Most buns were busy harvesting crab apples away from this stretch of swamp. At least that was Ladybug's theory.

Without another thought, the little bug began flitting from rock to rock to help string up the vines in a massive web.

Nan tries to warn the other rabbits

Nan looked around at the crowd in bewilderment as the dwarf spoke. Were they hearing how wild this sounded? Even if it did work - assuming the poor soul they trapped wasn't one of their own - how would trapping one outsider keep the rest of them away?
Nan shook her head and tailed after Bolete, joining her in warning the other rabbits assembled. Surely they weren't alone in thinking this was absolutely bonkers.

The little dwarf lead the party onward and onwards, around them the flora seemed to be more and more dense. It was like Tanglewood, only thicker. Thornapple began feeling more than a little apprehensive. The swamp was a confusing place, but this area was something else entirely.

Eventually the small party is halted by a wall of brush so dense they can't easily pass through. The dwarf looks it up and down, considering. "Guess it had a good growing season. Not normally this thick." She pushes forward, and struggles under the very edge of it all. With much effort, she makes a little bit of progress, but it would be hard for a standard sized rabbit "You coming? I'm not going to wait around."

Thornapple gulped, and dove forward, doing his best to push himself through the tangle of plants, but it would impossible to do alone.

If your rabbit did not submit an answer last round it's assumed they stuck close with the dwarf. This is a special round - you can roll 1d20 for each response you make and may response as may times as you like during this round. Results of 15+ are a success, and the group progresses forward. The group will need at least 5 successes by August 17 @ 5pm PDT. Your first response does not need any rp, later responses require at least 100 words. Only your first response will count towards meta ticket, but words written in all responses can be counted!

The stranger over joyed! For the most part the rabbits were working on his trap! It didn't matter that one or two seemed to object. Majority rule, and all that! He diligently worked away at the trap, along side the others, until he heard snapping undergrowth. Was that the outsiders. "Quick, hide!" he hissed.

He took off to a likely thicket, excitedly waiting to see if his trap would work. But then a small group emerged from the brush. He sucked his breath in. "Oh no..."

Bolette and Nan had struck out on their own, hoping to intercept the outsiders and warn them. They didn't make it very far before something found them, instead. A group of North Luremire dwellers. And they looked ... displeased to say the least.

The agouti hopped forward. "Why are you here? This isn't your territory?" He then glanced towards the dead fall. "Are there more of you about? It would be unwise to lie to us."
