Junie tries to get through!

Junie saw the little dwarf wiggling her way through the vines and was pretty sure they weren't going to be able to follow. This place was crazy overgrown and she was not a small bunny by any means. It also was giving her the creeps. She sure missed the Arbor! She watched as Thornapple gave it a try and appeared to be stuck. What would they do if they couldn't keep up? That dwarf did not seem overly happy to be helping them as it was, what if she decided to just leave them alone when they couldn't make it through??

Junie realized sitting around worrying over all of this was not going to help them get through the vines and overgrown mess. She was still kind of wet from the dunk she took earlier. Maybe she would be able to squeeze around the vines a little easier? It was worth a shot any way. She thought small thoughts and hunkered down as little and low as she could, and tried to shove her way into the masses of overgrowth. Wiggling this way and that, she pushed for all her worth. But it did not feel like she was even moving at all!

Bolete is honest

Bolete stopped and stared at the agouti rabbit and the others that stood behind him. There was something really weird about this group, and she hesitated. But this had been a weird day already with crazy rabbits and crazy tales, these must be the so-called intruders. She glanced back, glad that the other rabbit had followed along, so at least she wasn't alone out here. Might as well be honest, what else could she do.
"Yes, there is a ranting fellow back there setting a trap with a group of followers. He thinks you are invading I guess. We just don't want any bunny to get hurt, so we came to set the differences aside and warn you." She was very polite, hoping that their good will would get them some grace points.

Sage tries to get through the tangle (roll 1d20)

For as much as he wiggled and kicked, Sage just couldn't seem to get his larger body through the dense tangle of brush. With an annoyed huff, he backed up a bit and tried again with more strength to brute force his way through the plants. They had to be able to get through lest they lose the only guide they had. He couldn't speak for anyone else, but the idea of wandering blindly through unfamiliar territory didn't sound like a good time to him. They'd probably just end up lost and end up getting stuck somewhere else worse instead.

Peachfuzz tries to get through the tangle

Peach was out of luck, there was nothing to be found. The big bun managed to catch up with the dwarf guide, Thornapple and others. The doe had stopped in front of a tangle, squeezed herself through the thicket as if it was a regular feat. She wasn't so certain, and looking at the other rabbits, it seemed she wasn't the only one with doubts. She wasn't able to dwell on those thoughts for long, the light colored buck dove straight into the tangles. Well it was all or nothing, she hadn't come all this way to turn back now.

Each rabbit started to bum rush the overgrown plant. Peachfuzz backed up a bit, readying herself and her bulk. Then with a running start, she too rushed into the tangle.

Ladybug tries to hide

The little bug's ears pricked up as some scuffling noises grew closer. The bad buns were here! She was certain of it. The mystery stranger quickly told everyone to hide. She didn't have to be asked twice. Ladybug chose a broad leaf plant to use as cover. She hoped her antenna were hidden enough...

Thornapple struggled against the brush with the others. Every time they made any progress it felt like the hit an impenetrable wall. Time seemed to drag on and on. And then suddenly the little white dwarf was back.

"You better be real quite." She whispered. She looked around for the others, and approached them one by one, telling them similar things. "There's rabbits out there you don't want to meet just yet."

The rabbit snorted. "We're invading. This is our home. If anyone is invading, it is you." His gaze was level and flat. "But it is good you were honest." He hopped towards the thicket, only to be greeted by Snake.

"Trying to set a trap? That's unwise, isn't it? You dream up that idea all on your own? I doubt that. " His gaze swept over the area, quickly noting the stranger. "Ah, so it's you again." He gave a quick nod to the rest of his group, who moved at surprising speed.

Without any hesitation, they subdued the stranger, and surrounded him. The leader looked back to Bolete and Snake. "Best you go back to where you came from. You aren't welcome in our territory." He sounded serious. Without another word, the group took off, taking the struggling stranger with them.

Thornapple and the white dwarf watch in silence as the strange looking dwarves haul a different dwarf off. The white dwarf is quite for a good while, as it everyone else. "If you want to find your captured friends, you'd best be following them. They're the ones that took them. But this is their territory, you'll need to be careful."

She glances at the rescuers. "Don't know if you can even do it. If they see you, they'll capture you. There's a lot of them."

The group of dwarves moves off, leaving those who followed the stranger a little bit baffled. Ladybug and the others quickly regrouped though, and took off after the captors. They'd heard about dwarves like these before - they lived in North Luremire, and were deeply territorial. Had their domain really come to extend this far south?

As they follow at a distance, it seems like they have two choices - they can keep trailing them, hoping to track where they are going, or trying to intercept the group ...

Bolete tries to follow the group

Bolete breathed a sigh of relief that the territorial north swampers didn't get aggressive or anything, but they definitely seemed to mean business. She looked around, wishing she could just go back to gathering crab apples. She had done her part, she had warned them of the mischief... but... now she felt sort of obligated to make sure the captors didn't harm the captive she supposed. Also she was worried about the boundaries changing, what were these northerners up to? She decided to follow as quietly as she could to just keep an eye on things.

Junie tries to follow the North Swamp rabbits

Junie told herself to be brave. This adventure was nothing like the heroic tale she had fantasized about when she had volunteered. Still wet, and snagged up from vines, muddy and cold she was not feeling so heroic anymore. The ones that were trapped out here had been so for ages, and now she was scared she would be joining them rather than rescuing them. She could see rabbits moving off and she agreed with the dwarf, they better get following them. Maybe they could still salvage this mission with some sort of covert rescue and escape mission.

The little group follows the strange dwarves and their captives for what a good bit until a dwarf rabbit broke free of the underbrush near them, and started gaining on them. Thornapple watched quietly from the brush they'd be struggling through.

The dwarf was nearly immediately overwhelmed by the strangers, and suddenly it seemed like Ladybug was a captured too! Thornapple couldn't do anything other than watch in horror. The white dwarf just shook her head. "Told you to keep your distance. But they must be near to their base soon ..."

Soon enough the dwarves started moving again, and Thornapple and his little group trailed after them. It felt like they trekked through the swamp for an endless amount of time, but finally the dwarves seemed to come to a stop. They herded their captives into the mouth of a well hidden burrow, and seemed to set a guard ...

Was this where all the prisoners were being held? This little grove deep in the north swamp?

Ladybug didn't waste much time attempting to intercept the swamp dwarves. Unfortunately for Ladybug she attempted this alone. Without much effort the northern swamp dwellers easily captured her, and herded her forward alongside the strange dwarf ...

@Azael Ladybug has been taken captive! Ladybug doesn't have enough allies to try to get away ... Until further notice Peachfuzz is stuck as a captive!

The remaining dwarves trailed after the group, all for their own reasons. Eventually, a few keen eyes dwarves noticed that perhaps they were not alone in their pursuit. There appeared to be outsiders nearby, also following the dwarves.

All three groups arrived at the burrow site one after that other. The stranger and Ladybug were herded into a burrow, which left the swamp with some choices to make ...

Junie looks for another way in

Junie did not always make the best decisions in life but she was definitely not dumb enough to parade right up to the burrow and guards. They should probably try to find another way in, she thought. All the Arbor burrows and tunnels usually had other entrances, she reasoned this one would too.
"I'm going to try to find another way in," she whispered quietly, then wiggled away to search the area... as quietly as one could wiggle through brambles anyway.
