(The fox hits Sequoia for 3 damage!)
The fox had come to the lake to drink and to hunt. It had been drinking the water, but it tasted sour - not fresh from a stream, but stale, like a puddle. This had already put it in a bad mood, for as it began to hunt, following the scent of a rabbit nearby - what a promising catch! It was instead beset upon by three cats.
Cats were becoming an increasingly more prevalent problem for the fox and for its kin. They seemed to hunt in organized groups like wolves. Had three wolves set upon the fox this day, it would have never survived, however, these cats did not seem so coordinated; the fox dodged out of the way of two attacks.
It was about time that someone showed these pests that they were not on the top of the food tree. Cats ought to know to stay away from foxes; foxes oughtn't fear cats when they appeared! With this thought in mind, it turned its head sharply and snapped at the three-legged she-cat who had landed a hit on its body. There - a bite for a bite, so to speak. Perhaps that would be enough for the cat's friends to scurry off and if not... the fox was not above repeating the message of violence for violence.
