Watch was humming happily to himself as his paws carried him along the practiced path that was his clan's border. Those large paws of his had taken him so far, through so many adventures. Now, they ushered him further, into his latest adventure; clan life. Once, he had been a sea-farer, a far-traveller. But now, he was a warrior, a mate, and a father.
Today, he was clanmate to a young she-cat, still small and freshly named. Moonrock, how interesting. He had heard many stories about the moon in his travels. Many claimed that it was the eye of the world, much like that of the sun in some clan beliefs. Once he'd heard it said that it was an egg, one that would soon hatch and spill back all of the... what was the word... yes,
dragons! Large lizards with bat wings, or something else equally wild. But to think that the moon was a simple stone spinning in the sky, well, it wasn't a riveting story, mind you. But interesting nonetheless. He opened his mouth to ask his patrol partner if she'd heard the story about the moon-egg, when her words caught him off guard.
"A cat...?" He stopped and lifted his nose to catch the wind. But before he could snatch the scent there was a sudden rush of movement
Before he could do more than turn around, Moonrock had this interloper pinned and bloody. He quickly smoothed his bristling fur, his long tail whipping about, agitated. Watch approached, sunset eyes looking over his young companion, ensuring that the scent of blood did not come from here. Seeing that she was unharmed, he released a heavy sigh and turned those eyes onto the intruder. They were not so warm now.
"An honorable warrior does not need to kill to win their battles," He recants to the captive, his voice the rumbling threat of an ocean storm,
"That is what I was told, anyway. We were on my ship, my territory, and you laid claws on my cats, well. This would be a very different story, wouldn't it?" He gives a smile that feels more like a promise,
"You are behind LostClan's borders, little shadow. We talk here, before throwing claws. So if you have nothing to say, I recommend you leave. Now."
