Human experimentation did not start, or stop, with Touracs. We were one of their biggest projects, and one of the only that involved a level of human DNA, but dozens of other beings were created alongside us. Most of these animals were made with similar goals in mind, but most of them were retired to be used as Touracs friends when we were finally created. Have you ever heard of how goats were kept with horses, since they had a calming effect? It's a very similar principle as to why the humans put these creatures with us so often. They kept us calm, safe, and tame even during the start of our rebellion.

When we escaped our oppressive homes, we could not abandon these creatures here. Some feared that without a purpose, humans would kill them. Others had grown attached to theirs, and some simply thought more creatures would ensure the survival of Touracs.

This proved extremely successful, as these various pets we brought with us were able to adapt to the new climates. Even better, they began to harness magic through their bonded Touracs, as though the essence from our scales seeped into them by proxy. At first, only pets closely bonded to a Tourac could use magic, but it seems to have become genetic, as even those not bonded can have some semblance of power outside of a Tourac.

They have all grown with this world, and with us. So, lets meet your possible companions!

ELEMANDER

Features- Elemanders are what resemble salamanders, all of various species, with a few key differences. There are two types of Elemanders, coming in the form of water or fire. No matter the coloration or location, certain limbs seem to turn into one of those two elements.
Water Elemanders tend to stay in moist climates, but even when in extremely dry weather will seem to drip into a water like substance, though you must watch out. If kept too dry, they will dry out and have to be rehydrated. If you're too slow with rehydration, they may fail to recover. Despite this dripping, they don't appear to leave a trail. At most, you will find slightly damp claw-prints if they stand in one place too long.
Fire Elemanders are of a similar idea, preferring hot and dry climate. Their bodies are extremely hot, and flow into fire and sparks at their limbs. If they are doused in water, or frozen, these fires will dim and slowly die out. They can be re-ignited using any form of fire, but if not acted quickly enough this could be fatal.

GEOJACK

Features - Geojacks look like the average rabbit, all things considered. The only key difference being their head. It appears to be a sturdily connected rabbit skull, with the fangs of a large saber-tooth tiger, and crystals piercing through the top where ears should be. The closer one looks, and they would notice that the skull itself is a geode. The 'eyes' upon closer inspection are truly just sockets, revealing the interior crystal lined walls. Geojacks seem to be able to see despite this. They are also capable of making the noises of either a rabbit, a wild cat, or both. They do not have a sense of smell, though, and were often used by humans to inspect oil spills or gas leaks, as the smell of the substance did not effect them.
Whether or not they have any brain or other nerves found in the head is unknown, though it's suspected that they do, and these bodily parts simply live somewhere else in their body.
These creatures are now most often found alongside Terra Touracs underground, though can rarely be seen for high prices above ground.

PURRFLY

Despite the name, Purrflys to not actually resemble flies. Er, well.. they don't HAVE to. Purrflys are tiny cat like animals that vary in size, color, and their most special trait, a bug counterpart. You can find bee Purrflys, beetle Purrflys, and even fly Purrflys! They are just as versatile as Fauna Touracs, usually resembling in all ways the bug DNA present in them. Bee Purrflys are usually found amongst flowers, butterfly Purrflys can occasionally cocoon themselves, and spider Purrflys are capable of creating web like substances.
Every Purrfly is unique, even in size they will vary greatly depending on the bug. Purrflys are, unlike most bugs, extremely intelligent. They have cat like tendencies around Touracs and will demand affection most the time, or at least be understanding of the concept. It isn't rare to find a Purrfly that has chosen its own Tourac, following the poor thing around for the rest of their days.

SNATCHER

A raccoon / bird hybrid, that are incredibly sweet and easy to tame! Though, they're seen as pests for one major reason..
Both birds and raccoons are known for, well, snatching things up, and that is these little guys favorite thing to do. From trash to your most expensive pearl earring, keys and freshly baked bread, they want it all, and even tamed are hard to keep from these nasty habits. After all, they need to eat, and need all the sparkles for their nests! They can be found in just about any climate and are known to bond to multiple Touracs. If there are not multiple Touracs, they are best kept in pairs!

DOERAC

These, my friends, are Doerac. The original Tourac. Humanities first attempt at unwinding such a complex string of DNA in an attempt to make what would become the Tourac we love today. Tourac named the deer like creatures after themselves, to pay homage to their history. Doerac are incredibly smart, but lack the ability to speak, and their magic use is limited. They are able to use small portions of an ability on their own, such as moving a lightweight object telekentically or starting a small spark. But, when paired with a Tourac.. These powers become heightened. It seems the bond can give both them and their bonded Tourac a burst of energy!
They are incredibly hard to tame, but when tamed act more friend than pet. Most Doerac are found in sanctuaries, enjoying Tourac company but still wild. It is illegal to sell these creatures, rather they must choose you or be rescued in some other manner.

BAMBOWL

Meet the Bambowl! A hybrid between a panda, owl.. and some think a cat? That third one isn't quite confirmed, but they are roughly the size of a house cat and have the tail to show! Despite being named after bamboo, they are strict carnivores. They are only kept in captivity and most without owners don't live long, as they are incredibly lazy and don't hunt well. This is, of course, except for "zoomies" at night where they will likely cause havoc and a bit of a mess. Bambowls prefer mild climates, and especially dislike being in harsh sunlight.
