Sandbar and Serene had given Coast the day off from work and with his new-found free time, he was going to take the day to relax, get some surfing in, and then have a beach bonfire while making some vegetable kabobs.
It was going to be perfect. Or at least he hoped that it would. At this time in the year the beach was usually swarming, which made him very happy that he had his own beach-house so that he could relax by himself on his own property rather than having to deal with the crowd of ponies that he knew would be swarming around the beach and keeping the shop busy.
He carefully cleaned his surfboard, preparing it for the day ahead, and made sure that he had plenty of food for the day. He didn't want to come back from surfing just to find he needed to go out and do some shopping.
He looked out into the water and took a deep breath of the fresh air. He would never understand why other ponies wanted to be in crowded towns so badly. Fresh air was so much better. But... he could see something off in the distance. He just wasn't sure what it was. But he could tell that it had... fins? Was it another pony? He waved one of his hooves in the air, trying to get their attention. "Hey, you okay out there?" He wanted to make sure that they were there on purpose instead of lost. Or trying to get on his property without his permission.
