Rhinestone Glamour had been one of the first ponies to jump on the production of the marketplace that Drizzletown hosted. She had convinced her parents to act as sponsor for the marketplace, while she got the message out to her own friends. With so many upstanding ponies coming to the "exclusive" marketplace, well, Rhinestone was happy to say that business boomed that year for the vendors that attended and continued to do so every time the market was held, once every six months. She may not have the flair for business that her parents did, but with their influence and connections, she was able to see many a project bear fruit once she put in enough effort. Her recent project, becoming a model, was happening at the marketplace too. She'd secured a modeling gig with a clothing designer who specialized in waterproof dresses and accessories, which was ideal for the consistent rainfall of her hometown. *Rainy Daze was not only able to create their own designs, but for as a special deal for the marketplace, if you brought in a favorite clothing item then Rainy would be able to modify it to be waterproof then and there at his booth!
In exchange for helping Rainy Daze set up his booth and modeling some of his wears for the first couple of hours of the marketplace, Rainy agreed to have one of Rhi's outfits be the first he took on that day. She'd learned the gist of his booth, standing nearby and posing with her hair falling loose around her shoulders. Despite her hair being wet, the shirt she wore from his booth was not and she remarked upon it to anypony that passed her by, happy to tell them about about the many other styles and how the fabric had been waterproofed: beeswax! She was used to being on her hooves that long, for being a model was all about standing and posing. This gig was certainly more social-she felt a little more like a salespony and less like a model here. Well, it would be over soon enough.
And sure enough, in three hours time, she was tapped on the shoulder by her friend. He offered her a changing stall he'd brought up and handed her the outfit she'd requested. With a giddy dance in place, she thanked him and moved off to get dressed. The fabric was still as soft and movable as ever, but now it smelled pleasantly of beeswax. By the time she came out dressed in the white and lavender kimono, she felt considerably more at ease. With her coin purse attached via a loop to her sash, she thanked Rainy Daze again and then started out. She hadn't just come to the marketplace to get her outfit done up or to model for her friend's benefit... she'd come to shop! And to visit the booth her parents company ran every marketplace, selling the finest jewelry money could by... to those who could afford it. She grinned at the thought, wondering what items would be on display this season. Touching up her mane, she supposed she ought to purchase an umbrella first and foremost. Luckily in Drizzletown, especially at the marketplace, umbrellas were not in short supply, so on she went in search of the perfect one. With so many booths, she was sure she would find her perfect match here.
