[PRP] What treasures await in the secret cove?

Shadow hummed a song to himself, every once in a while letting words slip out of his mouth as he sang. It was a pirate song, one taught to him long ago, he couldn't even remember when, but it had gotten stuck in his head since then, and as he was sorting his "treasures" he would hum it. It helped him to concentrate and kept him from feeling as though no one would ever visit his little "trade" shop.

He never had need of worry. As long as there were pirates or adventurers out there seeking illegal items, treasures, or even magically enchanted items, he would be there to help them out. For a price. Whether it was money or trade, but there was always a price.

Though it wasn't as if his cave was easy to get to. Large enough for ships to enter and leave, but one had to go past the waterfall first and through the cave in the water or on the small strip of land to the side and eventually they would make it. Of course it needed to be kept out of the way. If it was too easy to get to, many ponies who had no need to know of his trades would wander in, and he would eventually attract the wrong type of attention. Attention that would want to stop him. He chuckled to himself at the thought. While he did take many precautions, he knew that he was needed, often too needed. He was one of the few ponies that would take cursed items off of others. He often found that if one did not purposefully mess with them or use them for their own gain, they would not receive any affects from the item. Though, he also was able to levitate them with his horn, which meant no need to even touch them in the first place. He wasn't stupid enough to do so.

Still, anyone could come in if they managed to find the cove and the cave behind the waterfall. It would then be up to him whether or not he would chase them out or perhaps make them "forget" that they had ever come.

Aqua lilypad padded along a small strip of land, humming to herself and then doing a small jump here and there to give the impression she was skipping or jumping into puddles. She was glad her hair was up and out of her face save for her long front bangs that were off to the side. She swished her tail to and fro idly stopping every so often to see if she can scout for some seashells. When she didn't find any she continued on her way. She looked around observing her surroundings, now thinking it about it she had never ventured in this area before, it looked nice enough that nothing tragic would happen to her during her walk.

As she walked she noticed that there was a waterfall in the distance, she tilted her head to the side slightly in curiosity. How intriguing she had never seen a waterfall in this area before but then again once again she didn't really venture this far before. She continued walking forward and after a bit she stopped in front of the waterfall and sat on her haunches, deciding to watch the waterfall and hear the water crashing down.

After a while Shadow was done setting up and knew that he didn't have any customers at the time. He would have heard them after all. Even with a waterfall in front of the cave, a ship would make too much noise, and unless a pony had some sort of padded feet or flying, they would be making some sort of noise. It was also a slow time of the year, ships coming less as the changing seasons turned to fall, which meant colder weather.

Therefor, when he was done, he decided to wander out a bit, making sure that none could go into his cave without detection, he had set up a few enchanted items to ensure that, and came from behind the waterfall.

What he had not expected was that a pony would be there watching it, and unless she had missed his brightly-colored backside and tail, she had surely seen him. Well, it was rare that he met new ponies. He might as well introduce himself. When he wandered close enough to her he greeted her. "Well, I haven't seen anyone on the beach for quite some time." He took a look at the waterfall and then back to her. "Beautiful isn't it? It's one of the main reasons to visit this cove." He bowed his head a little. "Shadow Tides. May I ask who you are?"

Aqua lilypad enjoyed watching the falls and hearing the water crash to the bottom, she blinked as a brightly colored pony emerged from within the waterfall. She tilted her head once again in curiosity, wait how could she not have seen the brightly colored spots behind the rushing waterfall, perhaps she was just enjoying listening to the water crash down that she didn't notice them at all. "Oh! my apologies I didn't notice you behind the waterfall, I was too mesmerized by how pretty the waterfall was" she told him admittedly. She frowned a bit, before answering his question about not seeing many on the beach "I think that is because the weather is slowly getting colder and it hasn't been warm enough to venture to the beach" she told him.

In all aspects that was the many reasons why she was starting to miss summer time, that was the best time to go to the beach every day enjoy the ocean breeze and the sunshine. Before replying to his introduction "Pleasure, to meet you Shadow Tides; My name is Aqua Lilypad but most of the time its just Aqua". She glanced at him "My apologies if I was bothering you that was not my intention" she finished.

He gave her a small smile. "You did not see me because I did not want to be seen. I have... a business back there that requires a bit of discretion. Not every pony who wanders over there needs to see it, though I'm sure if they managed to wander inside they would be quite intrigued." It wasn't as if his trade was a black-market secret, just that many who did not need to use his services did not know about him.

"I'm sure you are right. I'm here every day of the year, though that's because I live here. The cold and the heat don't bother me though." He was part-dragon after all. A higher body-temperature was normal. "Aqua Lilypad? A beautiful name that suits a beautiful pony such as yourself." He said, smiling at her once again. "You are not bothering me. While I wasn't expecting company at this time, I certainly don't mind a conversation with another. I have no business today so far, so I am free until either it happens or it is the next day."

"Ahh..I see, as long as i'm not interupting anything" she told him lightly. "Thank you, I do agree with you it does suit me to a tee" she agreed in a way she was feeding her own pride and ego but only slightly "I sort of live on the beach as well, but not entirely I enjoy coming here just to hear the ocean waves crashing against the shore, its quite relaxing and soothing and it gives me tranquility" she explained, she couldn't really say she lived her full time oh but she wished she would, she would be fine with letting the ocean waves put her to sleep.

He nodded. "I feel the same, though a waterfall is a little louder than crashing waves." He responded, chuckling a bit. "I make my home behind it, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy coming out here once in a while and appreciating the ocean that it feeds into."

He looked at her for a moment, wondering if he should invite her to see his "little shop". She was a seemingly ordinary pony, one that may not be interested in what he did. And it's not as though he went out of his way to trick others. There was a reason that the cursed items were hidden away after all. Not something you wanted randomly unleashed upon the world.

"If you want, you can come and take a look. It may not be to your tastes, but it's how I make my living. Though I would ask you not to go and tell everypony about it. I do want to keep it a bit of a secret so I'm not flooded with ponies coming to see it. Or having others trying to steal what's there." He was taking a chance he knew, but he was pretty sure he had a potion of forgetfulness in there somewhere if he needed to use it...

She nodded her head agreeing " that is very true, but its just as beautiful as a water fall" she replied. She didn't necessarily make a home on the beach but she would have loved to make her home on the beach year round. It just meant that she was truly enjoying life and nature and taking advantage of the beautiful scene before her. She swished her tail to and fro idly as she watched the water from the waterfall trickle towards the vast ocean that lay before her.

Although many aspects of the vibrantly colored pony still intrigued her, what did he do for a living and such and how often her went anywhere or if he went anywhere. She glanced at the ocean and then at the waterfall and wondered if a natural disaster strikes the shore if he would be okay. Wait, why was she concerned about the well being of a pony she just met. She shook her head thoughtfully and shrugged a bit maybe it was just a natural instinct or something.

She thought about his offer to look at what he had "Sure, If you don't mind that is" she told him. She chuckled a little "Your secret, whatever it may be is safe with me" she told him with a smile. She had to admit she was curious what he had and see if there was anything that she would be interested it, but from the sounds of how he described it probably not, but one would never know.
