Cats
Native to: Big City

Fantastic felines from the city, some cats like to claim they were the first citizens to ever exist in Animalis, and with no way to prove them wrong, it’s not likely they’re going to let go of that rumor any time soon. Despite this little point of perhaps undeserved pride, cats have a tendency to be cool and independent individuals, and it isn’t too often that anything gets under their fur.

Corvids
Native to: Big City

Sharp-witted and sharper tongued, many corvids are often unfairly known as slick talkers and hustlers. In truth, most of these birds are probably just as hard working as any rat or horse! Sociable and chatty, though, they do tend to be, and it’s rare to see one not surrounded by friends or co-workers.

Dogs
Native to: Big City

Said to be hard-working and loyal, many dogs would really rather be out laying in the sun or tossing a frisbee, though, with their sharp ears and sharper noses, it’s no wonder they've got a glowing reputation instead! They can and often do wonderful work in all kinds of fields; not just guard duty, but as chefs, sommeliers, musicians, audio technicians - well, okay, and guards, too, but plenty of other work suits them just fine!

Pigs
Native to: Big City

These portly fellows often get looked at as lazy layabouts, but it’s not their fault that their physique tends towards the rotund. Even the most active of pigs will get a little chub around the middle - and despite what some may say, there’s nothing wrong with that! Luckily, their disposition is quite often fairly sunny, so many times those thoughts roll right off their backs. Maybe it would be better if it didn’t have to, though.

Rabbits
Native to: Big City

Bouncy citizens with a naturally high metabolism, most rabbits are full of energy all the day through. Whatever one chooses to throw themselves into, they tend to do it full tilt, if only to burn off some of that excess! Work hard, play hard - though that means sleeping hard, too. Good luck waking up a rabbit that’s already gone to bed; it’d probably be easier to wake the dead!

Rats
Native to: Big City

With a natural proclivity towards curiosity and industry, one would think that rats wouldn’t have a negative reputation. Unfortunately, due to a high rate of willingness to work in jobs that many others won’t - such as sanitation and repair work - these animals often get an unfair label as unsanitary and unhygienic! It’s quite unfortunate, really, as most rats are actually quite clean - as anyone who gets to know one personally will usually find.

Finches
Native to: Big City

Small in size, but not always in heart, finches often fill countless service roles in the city. With voices that just never seem to die, they’re capable of talking for hours on end with barely a drink of water! Of course, how well one can use that stream of sound really depends on the citizen - but if you’re just reading from a script, it’s not like you need to think up your lines anyway, right?!

Chickens
Native to: Flat Place

Chickens get a bit of a rap for gold digging - always scratching around for scraps, trying to drum up something for nothing. Really, many of these feathered friends have simply been rather creative entrepreneurs and inventors, and maybe others have just been jealous of their ability to dig up success! Of course, plenty of others enjoy a good old fashioned farm life or rural relaxation, so it’s hard to say how the notion got started at all.

Cows
Native to: Flat Place

Slow moo-ving citizens, cows often don’t appreciate the idea that they’re all laid back and relaxed just because their metabolism is a little slower than others. It’s not their fault that having five stomachs means you feel full five times as long! Or maybe it means you have to fill up five times as often? Whatever the case is, these hooved animals are more than capable of charging if they see red, so it’s probably best not to insult someone that you don’t know, anyway.

Giraffes
Native to: Flat Place

With their long, long necks, some giraffes have a little bit of difficulty getting through some places - it’s really hard to go through a door meant for someone two feet shorter than you! Tree branches and overgrown hedge tops are a constant threat, not to mention street signs… life as a giraffe can be hard in the big city. On the plus side, though, being so far up there means great views for movies and concerts, so it can’t be all that bad, right?

Horses
Native to: Flat Place

Swift on their hooves, horses are capable of being some of the best runners and foot racers around. That doesn’t mean they all like going fast, though, something they have to remind others of from time to time. Something that does unite almost all horses, though? Apples. Heck yeah, apples.

Ostriches
Native to: Flat Place

Once upon a time, people would commonly get ostriches confused with peafowl. It seems a little weird to think about, since they’re really quite different, but it’s true, honest! Nowadays, most people know the difference; yup, ostriches are definitely much taller.

Sheep
Native to: Flat Place

Soft and fluffy doesn’t always mean cuddly, so when you’re around a sheep, take care that you don’t overstep any boundaries! While many sheep are more than happy for random hugs and pats, some of them like their personal space, thank you very much. Don’t forget, there’s nothing wrong with admiring all that wool from a distance - or go buy a sweater of your own, maybe?

Beetles
Native to: Innawoods

Though they might be rather small compared to some citizens, beetles are mighty! Even the scrawniest beetle can probably lift twice as much as you’d think they could - although some of them aren’t super pleased by this fact. Don’t be rude; if a beetle wants to be delicate, why don’t you try being the strong-arm for once?!

Deer
Native to: Innawoods

Agile creatures with a naturally light constitution, deer aren’t very intimidating at first glance. However, that doesn’t mean they’re all filled with flights of fancy; some deer take fitness very seriously, after all!

Fireflies
Native to: Innawoods

From high in the treetops to close to the ground, the lights of fireflies can sometimes be seen for miles around. The strength of their glow depends on the individual, but all of these talented citizens can be a beacon if they need be! Just don’t try and touch without permission - glow or not, that’s just rude!

Kitsune
Native to: Innawoods

A purportedly more mystical sort of fox than their arctic cousins, kitsune don’t really have any more or less magic in them than any other sort of animal, even if they seem to appear out of thin air sometimes. Some citizens like to claim that they grow more tails as they get older too, but reputable sources seem to state that they keep the same number throughout their lives. Whatever the answers really are, one thing’s for certain - kitsunes sure are gossipped about!

Millipedes
Native to: Innawoods

Have you ever wanted to hear what an army sounds like on its feet? Just find one or two millipedes and you’ll have your answer! An army marches on its stomach, however, and unsurprisingly millipedes have a bit of a reputation for being a rather hungry sort. On the job in Big City, these urban footsoldiers never seem to have a problem standing around, but rarely do they have the chance - it seems like someone always wants them to go the extra mile!
