He was born to two loving parents who very much wanted a large litter. While they were disappointed they only managed to have one kitten, they put all the love they would have provided an entire litter right onto Adder, which often overstimulated him as a small kit. He was birthed near a shared territory where he would meet and befriend Hawk and her family. The two were practically inseparable as children, which would carry into their adult life.

As adults, Hawk and Adder decided they wanted to strike out on their own. The only question was where they'd want to go. The two liked being surrounded by other cats, they just wanted their own lives, away from their doting parents. It was Adder who stumbled upon TreeClan during one of his scouting trips, and he found himself intrigued by the communal nature of the clan. Clan life seemed perfect for them, he thought, but would Hawk be interested? Not only that, but Adder had slowly begun to realize that his feelings for Hawk weren't just friendly... Could they start a new life together in TreeClan?
Not one to dwell long on a ruminating thought, Adder quickly told Hawk about the clan he had discovered. Somehow, in a quick burst of word vomit, Adder also found himself spilling his affections for her. Luckily for him, Hawk returned both his love and interest in the clan, and the two left home as mates. TreeClan happily accepted the two and they would begin their lives together.

Born as an only cat to two mated cats, Sanctuary was constantly admired and almost worshipped for her beauty. Both of her parents were considered unattractive by their communities and had experienced plenty of hardships for it. She was like a blessing to them, but Sanctuary despised it. She felt as if all that mattered to her parents were her looks, and perhaps she was right.
