In this thread, players can officially trade cats with other players! While there's a channel in the official Discord to offer/chatter/discuss offers, this thread is the final step to officializing the process. No trade is official until a form is posted here and approved by both owners. Please read all rules carefully.

  • There are two different kinds of trades; Swaps and Rehomes.
    • Swaps are two way trades where both players receive a cat.
    • Rehomes one way trades that can act like gifts, only one person walks away with a cat here.
  • When you make a trade, there are two options available to you; Fresh Start or Keep the Canon.
    • Cats opting to make a Fresh Start will not retain any prior information and will become entirely new characters once they're recerted. You may change their name and their gender, their generation and cert dates will be reset, and they will lose all ties to any family. It is assumed that the original character is dead or otherwise missing and that character cannot be commissioned or remade.
    • When you choose to Keep the Canon for a cat you traded for, you are keeping that cat as is. Nothing but the owner will change, and the character will maintain all of its previous ties.
  • Players will need to post here to confirm trades and will link to those posts when recerting.
  • Both players (new and old) have to confirm the trades. One player will post the forms and the other will quote with a response of approval (ie; approved, accepted, yes, agreed!)
  • The previous player cannot enforce that the new player keeps plots, name, clan (or loner/kittypet status), etc. Once the cat leaves a player's hands, they are entirely owned by the new player, and thus any decisions will be decided by them.
  • Players cannot force another player to give back a previously rehomed or swapped cat, for any reason.
  • Do not swap for cats not created yet. This includes WIPs, sketches, etc.
  • It is up to the players to provide the correct information about a cat prior to swapping/rehoming. While staff knows the parents and siblings of breeding cats, staff do not know plotlines, RPs had, or other personal information.
  • Use the form(s) as intended. Staff will be monitoring. Clan belonging cats have an additional form, please use it.
  • Swaps should be posted individually in their own posts, while rehomes can be homed all at once if they are going to the same player. If not, make a new post for each player receiving a rehomed cat.
  • [ Currently there is no transferring or claiming of DP during a trade, as we are going to be dismantling and rebuilding the reward system for CotS ]
