「◈◈ — Personality 」
Palestorm greatly values her right to choose in life, having tasted what it was like to live for someone else and greatly hating it. She knows exactly who she is as a result and her own moral code and is her own greatest advocate, even if she has to hurt someone in the process. At the end of the day, she rather die knowing she lived her life true to herself, even if it ends up breaking a few hearts.
She is empathetic, driven, and wants to do good in this world before she lays down one final time. There are so many cats who need someone to fight for them, and growing up watching your clan slowly die before you're even an adult leaves a mark on someone. She doesn't ever want to stand by again -- if she can do something to help or save someone then she'll do everything in her power to do so. Someone has to.
She is fiercely protective of her people, regardless of how they feel about her. Palestorm believes she'd be nothing without her clan and desperately wants to return the same love they offer her. She can overwork herself if not kept in check, but staying still was never her thing, either. She also has developed a tendency to deny herself simple pleasures in life, believing she doesn't deserve them as much as others do.

「◈◈ — History 」
Born in a tiny litter to Mothwing and Deadeye, Palekit had a moderately nice childhood. While Mountain Clan was struck by a famine long before her birth she still managed to avoid the brute of it when young. Born at a time when several families also expanded, Palekit befriended Poppykit and a few others, making her kithood a lively one.
As Palepaw she fell completely in love with her clan. Clan life was everything she could ever want; she had plenty of friends, a lot of adults to look up to, and she was always surrounded by familiar faces. It was just... well, hard, at the time. She watched many cats perish to the famine, which drove her to desperately try and achieve the set goals for her to become a warrior. It wasn't going fast enough for her -- she needed to be a warrior quick! She began to develop a crush on Poppypaw during this time, although she stomped it deep down to focus on her clan. That, and honestly she believed Poppypaw could find someone better than her.
Then, the prophecy happened. A choice was set out; stay in the mountains or leave to find better lands. Several of the elders chose to stay despite the very frightening omen Littleflower spoke of, which warned that any cat who stayed behind would struggle. Palepaw couldn't in good faith leave those cats behind, and so she chose to stay. Her parents and sister, however, did not agree with her choice, with every one of them begging and pushing her to leave with them. Palepaw stayed strong on her choice until it became apparent her mother, Deadeye, would very well not survive her daughter staying behind. Feeling guilted and like her life's mission was stolen from her, Palepaw reluctantly agreed to leave the mountains to keep her mother alive.
Except, that decision never felt right.
Deadeye's health began to plummet as she fell into a deep depression over influencing her daughter's decision, and Palepaw began to feel a deep resentment. If this was going to happen anyway then why did she leave? Why hadn't she stayed? During the journey out of the mountains, she attempted to turn around several times, only to be stopped by her father. Resentment turned into a deep-seated fury at her family as she felt robbed of her ability to choose. How could she live on knowing she took the safe route while those left behind suffered on their own?
It was during the long journey when Palepaw became Palestorm, and with her ascension into adulthood came the realization that she did not belong. Her home was back in the mountains, and she was going to go back, her family be damned. Of course, she loved her family, but she needed to live for herself. Choosing others hadn't made it any better, anyway -- her mother still suffered regardless. If it was going to fall apart anyway then she rather she at least follow her heart in the process.
She just needed to wait for her family to turn around long enough.
