Optional RP: Wybert noticed the tiny pawprints, the long draw mark, and oversized tracks as he inspected the forest's edge. He also noticed clusters of smooth stones which he picked up. They might come in handy during this whole search and if not then he'd keep them to paint when this was all over. He was about to bring the trail into the forest to Shai's attention when the group investigating the caravan discovered the small pon hidden under the canvas of one of the wagons.

Heading over towards the gathering group he watched as Shai tried to comfort the small child. It had started to work until Shai began to question the small one who began to wail about a monster. That didn't sound good and Wybert glanced around nervously, thinking of those big tracks he had found, to make sure that there wasn't anything sneaking up or charging the group. Surely those big tracks belonged to whatever 'monster' the child was crying about.

They eventually got the small pon calmed down and with another who would be able to keep them soothed and keep an eye on them. Wybert looked at Shai and shook his head when given the option to turn back. No way was he leaving now. The other porri surely needed help and the more that continued on the better odds they had of being able to help. He hung back as the group split into staying and going. It was only once those that were going had entered the forest that he began to walk opting to take up the rear so he could act as a rear guard with his rocks.

Benibana gave a confused nose at the food. It had been left behind and that was strange, there was a few little tears and crumbled edges but it was mostly intact. She lifted her head, hearing a noise and followed it, watching Shai bring out a small teary eye newborn.

Of all the pons in the group she hadn't expected for herself to be the one that the newborn calmed for. She nuzzled the little one swaddled onto her back and settle herself in the middle of the group.

Spinel shook her head. No turning back right now would be quite unaccpetable she had decided in the begining to find the little ones and that is what she planned to do.

She kept to the back seeing Kelspia in the front as she knew what they needed to spot to track having inspected the site of the caravans before and followed the drag marks to the forests edge.

She was watching their back with another. Pairing up seemed like a good idea. Leaving another alone didn't seem wise. Honestly she hoped she wouldn't have to fight as she really wasn't a fighter but she would if she needed. At least someone had to figure out the reason why the little ones disappeared. As she wasn't sure if the little one was exagerating the monster due to be frightened.

She kept her eyes peeled for any clues those in front may have missed on their search and travels through the woods.

Dusk is almost offended Shai offered them a choice to leave, but she curbs her attitude as Shai is just being kind to the less courageous.

"I'm not going back until all the littles have been found."

There is absolutely no way Dusk is anywhere but up front. She wants all the little chickadees safe.

The front seems like it'll have a healthy number of porri. Shai nods approvingly before leading, hesitating only to ensure those in the back also were following.

The middle seems like the safest bet, with everyone securely guarded by the front and rear. The walk in the forest begins quietly, with hushed murmurs and soft paws the only noises cutting the silence.

That is, until a loud snap comes from the canopy above, and down comes crashing....

A starseed! Were they with the traveling caravan? Thankfully, on closer inspection, it doesn't look harmed. Now... who will carry this poor seed?

• The winner will be ineligible to win any other porri or figments present in the story of the CYOA, but can continue to play for end-of-the-CYOA rewards (or just for AP/fun!). The player may reject the prize, which will result in a re-roll. Rejection has to be stated immediately — players cannot ask to swap their prize down the line, or return it past the round they've been won within.

Rocks rain down on those behind the group accosted by the fallen starseeds! Ouch! It doesn't hurt too badly, thankfully, but, the group pauses anyway to assess any damages and patch up all scraps and cuts.

Rocks and starseeds did little to slow the group as they pressed onward, relentless in their search for answers. What had once been quiet, hushed whispers gradually rose in volume as tense shoulders loosened and stress lines eased. From time to time they stopped to examine erratic pawprints or stray tufts of fur scattered along the worn forest path.

As the sun dipped low, Shai turned and opened his mouth to-

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Shai flinched as a shrill scream echoed through the woods, followed by a low, rumbling roar. Shai snapped into action, jerking towards the direction of the two sounds, only to be cut off by a different shriek.

"HELP! Someone help me!"

From the opposite direction came another cry, one that warbled with distress. Shai jerked towards the noise, turned, and faltered, caught between two paths.

“I- we need to split up!” He exclaimed. “I'm heading for the first scream! Anyone coming, keep up! We'll meet back here tonight!”

Off he ran, tearing into the forest with hurried, fast paws. Those who were coming with would need to do so quickly!

• AP can be earned from RPing, but it won't net extra prizes from the CYOA itself. It is entirely optional.

Decision: A.) Head to the right, where the scream was accompanied with a roar.

Optional RP: Wybert's tail took the brunt of the damage when the rocks rained down upon the group bringing up the rear. He gave a soft little 'ow' once the rock shower was over with and took a moment to assess if he had been injured or not. Determining it was just a few bumps and bruises caused by the falling rocks he took a couple of them and put them with the others he had gathered before.

With that done he looked up to see how the rest of the group had fared and saw that the rocks weren't the only thing to fall. A starseed had also fallen down and was now being taken care of by one of the other porri. He was that someone had volunteered to keep it safe while they continued the search.

As the day went on, the group relaxed some even if no new major clues had been found. They still had a trail they were following so they must be on the right track. When a scream pierced the air followed by a roar he froze up. Fortunately Shai wasn't one to really freeze up however the second cry for help did make their leader pause. When Shai said he was going towards the first scream, Wybert quickly followed after. "I'll go with you!" He called out. If anything he'd be more likely to be helpful with his rocks to scare off whatever had been roaring after the first scream than he would be heading towards the cry for help.

Watching the chaos that ensued from behind, Xerenes could only stare wide-eyed as yet another star was settled in with a second porri, and the ruffle to his fur calmed at the realization that that was one less child they had to find.
Seeing that someone had already volunteered to go with Shai, Xer jerked his head in the opposing direction, signaling to Wybert his choice to follow the other scream.
It took him little more than a second longer to take off into the trees in the direction of the call.

Yang had been frantic when they heard what happened, and took very little convincing to join up in the efforts of search and rescue. Making sure the nursery was still well staffed, they had taken off.

So far, Yang had managed to stay calm. Even through searching the wreckage of the caravan. Even through the scattering of rocks and the surprise of a newborn appearing. Even with the latest shower of rocks and a starseed. Yang would have spoken up to help the starseed, but someone else had taken it upon themself to carry it for now.

But when the scream split the air, Yang froze. Their heart thudded in their chest so loudly that it was almost all they could feel and hear. As Yang took a jerky step forwards, another cry for help came, but in the opposite direction. Much like Shai, Yang was split. Thankfully, Shai made a decision a split second quicker.

"I will go this way!" they shouted, hoping Shai had heard them. "Come on!" they blurted to the group, flicking their tail to motion for some of the Porri to follow them before they pushed into the undergrowth in the direction of the second plea.
