The ball twitched once, twice, before pinging the capture, stilling on the loam floor. "Well, looks like you caught it. Three out of three captures is pretty good so far." Kennedy mused, they were at one hundred percent catch rate.

Vi picked up the research ball, rolling it in her hand, lips pursed. "I guess it is a new Pokemon for the area, though it is known." Still it was in fresh water and Vi was rather certain she had heard of it living in oceans. Rivers seemed like a new habitat for them, she was going to have to do some research.

She still had research balls to spare and they had not had half the party faint or landed in a pit so things were actually pretty good. "I guess that is true." Things were turning up for the better.

A wild angry cry made Vi freeze in surprise. That sounded close and not anything familiar. She shook herself, quickly pocketing the ball as she scrambled out of the way of the falling pokemon that had just dropped from the canopy. It was a mass of blue green vines, ooh ooh that was a Tangel! She had wanted to capture one.. though it looked like it wasn't going down without a fight.

She scrambled to find a pokemon, finally tossing out the pokeball with violet out to battle it. Poison moves had crits on pure grass types if she remembered right. Tangela was pure grass wasn't it? No time to second guess herself! She had a battle to win. "Violet! Poison sting!"

Violet the nidoran focused on his opponent, ears rising up and gave a shout, sending off a poisonous sting attack. It hit the Tangel hard and the small grass pokemon just crumpled into a sad slump of vines. Vi nearly felt bad for it, but the excitement won out as she tossed a poke' ball hitting it in the center.

It slurped the pokemon into the ball and rocked once, twice, and pinged a succesfull capture. "I caught it? I caught it!" Vi shouted gleeful as she jumped up and down before picking up the research ball. She couldn't keep it but still, she had captured it.

Kennedy chuckled, watching the woman celebrate her successful capture. "Good job, ooh shit watch out!" She called as a second pokemon jumped out of the canopy, a blur of green and such a weird looking little blob. "What.. what is that?" She questioned.

Vi froze. "YOU!" She shouted, turning on the one that had gotten away. "You are not getting away this time! Violet! Poison sting!" She called out.

This time things did not go to plan as the polliwag managed to dodge and then smacked down her nidoran causing him to faint. "Ooh shit, violet!" She called, recalling the pokemon to his ball to protect him. The Pokemon eyed them before scurrying back , dodging in and out of the trees and away from them.

"Shit," Vi cursed, frowning as the creature got away. "Again it escapes me." She huffed, only slightly consoled by the three successful captures. "Damn it."

"You aren't doing that bad," Kennedy said, amusement in her voice "But did you want to turn back? You are down two pokes, and not sure how well that little chingling going to do in a battle."

"Yeah... we should start heading back." Vi muttered, sighing as she turned around.

"At the very least, we didn't' fall into any more traps." Kennedy replied as they started to walk back to the camp. She was taking point, still having two pokemon that were healthy and able to handle any issues they found along the way.

Several of the trees here seem to have deep holes in their sides... "feathers and claw marks indicate this area is a sleeping spot for feathery pokemon."

"Hmmh, that is odd." Vi muttered as they walked along the trails, nearly making out the cave entrance leading back to civilization. That tree had a lot of deep holes in it side, and the claw marks and the feathers suggested some sort of avian.

"I don't think I have heard of a bird in this area."

"Pidove," Kennedy suggested as they walked.

"Maybe," Vi said, following her back into town to get her pokemon checked out. It really could be a pidove but that didnt' seem at all like Pidove behavior.
