Oliver yawned, checking his medical bag one last time before swinging it on. Max was a menace at the best of times, he probably would be worst in the grasslands. Which was why they were sticking to the grasslands and not roaring off to explore the new area. Baby steps.

Mothra mrrp at his feet, eager to get a move on, and Mimic was riding on his shoulder, content to sun himself at the moment. The second reason was Oliver really rather have a third pokemon before exploring that forest. Or have Mimic evolve to have a bit more of a power force at his hands.

He walked out of the dorm and to the meet up spot, Mothra following eagerly, tail arching lazily.

Max had been having an interesting few days. He gained a third Poke'mon from the community center that he was working on naming. A very excitable little Aron, much more nimble and fast than one would think for a two ton steel puppy. In the first two days, Max had gained multiple bruises on his shins from walking into the poor thing as it skittered about the room, playing with Magnus and Morgana, Max's Zorua and Alolan Ninetales.

Oliver had to actually show Max how to maintain his bruises and help them recover faster, and had left many supplies in the redhead's room. It became such a common occurrence that, for once, Max became more aware of his surroundings, and thought before acting. He even packed such supplies into his bag for every day use.

He made sure such things were packed in his bag, before checking the time. He was going to be late! Shoes yanked on, he was ready, and Max waved for the three to follow him out of the room quickly. The Aron was at least quick at picking up when he was moving, even if it hadn't learned his signs yet, and it helped that Magnus and Morgana would urge him along gently too.

Max beelined for the typical meeting spot with Oliver, his gait a bit slower than usual since his new little one was fast... But not fast enough. A hand would go up and he would wave, a big smile on his face, as he came up on Oliver and Mothra.

"Good morning!" he would sign quickly, dipping down to offer Mothra some attention too.

"Good morning!" Oliver called, signing as well to keep in practice. "You were almost late," He added, more teasing then anything.

Mothra rubbed against Max, giving a please little mrrp at the attention, carefully bopping Max's hand with her nose before trotting back to Oliver. She gave a plaintive Del gently patting at his leg in a wish to continue.

"Well, Mothra ready to go. Are you all set? " Oliver eyed Max checking him for injuries, probably a guarantee with the aron but nothing that seemed determental for their outing. "The grasslands are rather calm. So it should be good practice. And likely cleared out since everyone likely tripping over themselves in Darksallow."

"Almost," he would sign back with a stuck out tongue. Standing back up, he would glance down at his trio. The Aron was approaching Mothra with curiosity, while Magnus and Morgana just waited patiently beside him. Morgana flicked her tails when Max looked down.

"All set," he would agree and nod, adjusting his bag against his side. A little snap was given towards the Aron, who was still trying to follow Mothra, which brought the little terror back to his side. Max would take up pace at Oliver's side, his own little nuggets following, and start off towards the grasslands.

"So how are you finding Nauwhil so far?" Oliver questioned, walking into the familiar grasslands. "So this area is mainly bug and normal types with a single grass. You have your familiar pidoves and sentrets but you also have Lefmew, and the Nauwhil version of Scatterbug and Weedle." He gently touched Mimic's head, motioning to him.

"The weedles have been on the rarer side. They like to hide it seems."

"It's been a lot of fun," he would sign back, glancing down at his side to make sure his kids were keeping up. The Aron seemed to be trying to play with them while they walked. Morgana wanted nothing to do with it, and eventually pawed at Max's leg, leading to him hoisting her up into his arms. Magnus, however, was playing a game of catch-the-tail, or something, with the Aron. It was really cute, actually.

"I'm hoping we can find something other than just Grass and Bug," he would sigh one handed, and wrinkle his nose a little. They weren't bad Poke'mon, persay, but... If he was to catch more of his own, he wanted more that had a bit... More to them. If that made sense?

As they continued to walk, a wild Pidove suddenly started to swoop at them. Max's eyes went wide as Morgana let out a little bark, Magnus jumped up in an attempt to bite its tail as it passed, and the Aron stumbled into the back of his legs, making him pitch forward. A soundless yelp would pass his lips as he stumbled and regained his footing, just in time to see Mothra jump up and bat the Pidove from the air. It seemed stunned for a moment, and the little Aron at Max's side - possibly in order to try to prove itself - rocketed forward to try to hit the Pidove. Both fortunately and unfortunately, Oliver chose this point to huck a research ball at the Pidove.

In the moment it was captured, the Aron tumbled past and headbutted directly into a tree trunk. It was clearly stunned now too, making Max jog over to check it, but it was otherwise unharmed. The Pidove was caught, which made Max give Oliver a thumbs up, before putting Morgana down to check to make sure the Aron wasn't really hurt.

Mothra chirp happily, walking over to pick up the pokeball in her mouth and walked back, offering it to her trainer.

"Thank you," Oliver carefully took the ball from his pokemon setting it in his pocket and rubbed over her head, scratching under her chin. "You did so good." He checked her over for injuries and walked over to Max to take a look at the Aron.

"How is he?" He asked, crouching down to look over the small steel type. "It looked like he bonked the tree good." No wonder Max was getting bruised up from this little guy. Oliver held out his hand to the aron.

"I think he's fine," Max would sign. The Aron still seemed as chipper as ever, and made happy little sounds as it tried to climb into his lap. A smile graced his features as an exhaling breath of laughter escaped him. Sitting cross legged on the ground, he would help the stubby little one climb into his lap, grimacing slightly at the weight as he pet over its head.

When Oliver extended his hand, the Aron would look up at him in wonder, before seemingly smiling with eyes closed, and making little sounds again. It tumbled from Max's lap and would toddle to Oliver, sniffing at his hand. Then nuzzling into it happily. It seemed completely unfazed by what happened, so Max let out a little breath of relief as he pushed hair from his face.

"He really doesn't seem to get hurt easily. It's probably because he's like a big hunk of steel," he would practically laugh, watching Oliver and the Aron, before brushing himself off from sitting on the ground. Morgana and Magnus were seated nearby, just watching and waiting.

"He does seem alright," Oliver rubbed over the smooth head, gently stroking the smooth dome. "Though keep an eye on him, he might be a bit more injured then you think, some Pokemon are really good at shrugging off injuries and some are good at hiding them."

He stood, brushing off his hands. "Guess we should get a move on, a lot more to see." He motioned with his hand and set off.

"Ahh shit," Oliver cussed as the gravel slipped under his foot and he slid across the grassland towards a rather unpleasant looking berry bush. Nope, not today. He twisted, managing to stop his descent and avoid getting tangled in the bush. "Well that was unpleasant."

He sighed, reaching up to pat Mothra as the delkatty peered at him worrily giving little Del cries of concern. "I'm fine, I just slipped." He wiggled his toes and then shifted his feet back so he could sit up. No blood, not tears, just some sore spots and some grass staining, maybe. All in all, not a bad fall.
