Farren paled at Aerika's words. Was she truly that naive? "No, no, no, it's nothing like that. The ocean is alive, girl, and she's wicked mad right now. Going swimming today is like thinking 'fine' means she's fine. That's just not smart, my friend." Man, and he thought he had a reckless streak! "Tell you what, city girl, once all this blows over, we show you how to swim the ocean, yeah? Pip, you look dressed for the occasion and kid here could probably call up a bunch of Goldeen to save you from drowning." He said with a grin. He hoped she'd take that bait, he really didn't want to have to pull this chick out of the surf today. He looks at the other two for some help, "What say you? Beach day once the storm's gone? Could use the opportunity to get some research done on each other's Pokemon, if you want."

"Excuse me! I know how to swim! I won't DrOwN." She respond quite aggressively. "Not my fault I've never had a chance to go to the beach. You don't wanna go in the water where I'm from. Cleanest thing in there is Muk. But fine, whatever, you guys don't have the gumption to go take a little swim, that's all you had to say you know." A sparkle gleams in her eyes, her Bulbasaur stops squirming and looks up at her, finally giving up on trying to escape the grip of the young woman. "So what ARE we gonna do, cause I'm bored and tired of just standing here."

Pip stuttered for a moment. The kid clearly got exactly the wrong message. "No-- I--... what?" They did say 'don't go there now', didn't they? Thankfully Farren had the situation in hand and brought the kid down from her impulse. Would they get fired if they accidentally inspired someone to go get themselves drowned? Probably, right?

They were... definitely going to go to beach tomorrow. Even if the 'city' decided they didn't need a life guard on shift. Just in case. They could run drills with Little Guy.

"I... am going to go home?" Pip said, although they didn't sound super sure of themselves.

Farren lifted his wide shoulders in a shrug, "I was about to head over to the VCA, check if they needed any help," He said, "To be honest, I came out here because being inside doing nothing was worse. Usually an all hands on deck kinda situation, this." He nodded up to the swirling clouds above, "Couldn't go home if I wanted to, it'd drive me nuts." There was a bit of a chuckle on that one as he shifted his pack from one should to the other.

(short tag, sorry! wanted to get something in before we left Dx)

"Aiight, kewl! Let's all go to the VCA then and do whatever it is we do at the VCA! C'mon!" She starts to walk down the road, scooping up her bulbasaur in the process, and then stopped abruptly, "Wait... which way is the VCA?"

Farren gave Pip and Nero an exasperated look and then sighed in defeat. Looks like he would be taking the responsibility here, "Ah, well. I could use the company," He shrugged and gave the two a wave, "Was a pleasure meeting you both. Don't worry, I'll make sure she doesn't end up in the sea." He grimaced.

He secured his straps one last time, nodded to the calmer of the bunch and went after the loud one with wild hair, "Safe travels!" He called over his shoulder before jogging to catch up to Aerika. With a friendly grin, he clapped a hand on her shoulder and gently steered her in the right direction, pointing out the VCA building along with a few other notable locations. While this had not been his plan for the day, at least he seemed to have made a few friends out of it!
